ITV have very very few decent shows though. They have invested way ay too heavily in reality crap.

Love Island paid off for them, eventually. ITV also do well selling programmes abroad (Bodyguard for example).

ITV own the company that produced the show.

Fox Decides to Ditch Its Stake in Sky for $15 Billion

21st Century Fox will offload its longtime 39% stake in Sky to Comcast for more than $15 billion, after the U.S. cable giant lodged the highest bid in a weekend auction of the European pay-TV heavyweight.

Fox said Wednesday it would accept the £17.28-per-share offer Comcast made in the auction, which clears the way for Comcast to take full control of Sky.

Wow so in total Comcast will have paid around £40bn for complete control of Sky.

I’ve never heard anything good about Comcast.

Luckily I don’t have Sky TV anymore but I still use them for internet and NowTV. :dread:

We were kind of hopeful when we heard Fox were buying up shares earlier today, seemed like they were trying to get to the 51% mark, then this happened :(

You definitely don’t want to get locked into an 18 month contract with these muppets...

Quite amazing how Murdoch has completely lost his biggest creation.

Well, guess I'm not going to getting Sky, then. Comcast is notoriously crap, and apparently the Fox that was bidding was specifically 21st Century Fox (i.e. the bit that Disney is going to own).
