The Fantastic Four is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the third theatrical Fantastic Four film to be distributed by 20th Century Fox and a reboot of the Fantastic Four film franchise. Directed by Josh Trank, the film stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell. Simon Kinberg and Jeremy Slater wrote the screenplay from a story conceived by Kinberg and Trank. The film is said to be based in part on the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic-books.

I choose to judge the film by actually watching the film.

Isn't Reed insanely evil in the ultimate universe?

Yes but that happened much later.

So this won't be a part of the MCU then?

I sincerely hope they have this as the theme done by a modern artist:

That's ungrammatical!

If this film tanks then we can expect Fantastic Four and the characters associated with it to revert back to Marvel. That's the dream anyway.

The sequel to this movie is penned in for July 14, 2017

No but it could potentially be set in the same universe as those awful X-Men films if Fox wanted.

They can do a crossover.

But he's (mostly) right :? :?

And as good as two of the Fox X-Men film series are, Marvel Studios version would be a million times superior.

I don't think it's fanboyish to say that. I fully admit that Incredible Hulk is woeful, but I put that down to Norton more than anything. But every other Marvel Studio film has been vastly superior to anything Fox or Sony have done with their Marvel licenses.

That's being a fanboy  There are only one or two Marvel films I might say are better than Spidey 2 or X-Men 2

I watched X2 a few months ago before DoFP and it was nowhere near as good as I remembered.

I dread to think how badly Spidey 2 has aged, especially Maguire's performance as I never liked him in the first place. Garfield is the only redeeming part of the ASM franchise.

I don't like the Marvel Studios films just because they're done by them. I can fully pick holes and slate parts of many of the films I don't like, but at the end of the day I enjoy watching all of them (bar Incredible Hulk) more than anything Fox or Sony has done.

I just thought though I've totally forgotten about the Blade films, can't remember who had the rights to them at the time. I'll have to rewatch them to see if I still enjoyed them like I did.

Blade was New Line Cinema. Unsure about the sequels.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the first great Marvel film. The other range from poor to good, but they're all far too safe for my liking. Days of Future Past was better than every Marvel Studios film bar Guardians.
