So, Boogie2988 - the American videogame fan popular on YouTube and famous for his "Francis" parody character - split up with his wife a few months back. He has released a new Francis video and, man, it gets you right in the feels. For those of you who don't know, Boogie's wife sometimes appeared as Francis' "sister" in previous vids.

I have the feeling that, despite a brave face in his recent vids, Boogie was showing us another angle here

I've read some of the background on that. He wasn't a particularly good husband.

I like his videos occasionally, but when I seen this thread bump; my first thought was I wonder if he had passed away.

Wait, he was married? I never had any idea, but then I haven't watched any of his videos since...well, probably the last time I posted in this thread.

Thankfully, Boogie is now healthier than he has been for many years, Miguel. He had surgery at the end of last year and he has sorted out his diet. He's still a big guy but he has lost so much weight and he seems pretty determined to continue on that path.

Fair play to him for wanting to lose the beef, he was fairly grotesque. Horrific ‘Tuber ‘personality’.

True, I deffo don't want to get into a big thing again. BUT, I do think these people need to be put in context when discussed, especially when it's in a positive or sympathetic light. This is someone who defended a movement that was actively harassing and threatening women. Perhaps not the acts themselves, but he stood up to be counted amongst those ethics in games journalism cronies who allowed it to continue.

I'll be honest, I'm never not going to point that out whenever he's mentioned, same as with people like TotalBiscuit.

tl;dr His wife needed time away from him to think, the prick then broadcasts this to millions of people.

Edit: his wife just texted him live on stream and she's "furious" with him.
