We had the Eurogamer system before it was cool.

Press Start had a bit more life in it after this incarnation, including at least one more traditional site redesign and finally a blog. The redesign got rid of the head/heart system in favour of regular scores, and eventually ditched the scores completely and awarded Silver and Gold awards to exceptional games. I think Halo 3 was awarded the first Gold, after Eighthours picked up a pre-release copy from Argos.
