He's not exactly well known over here in the UK, but he should be. I discovered him due to Jimmy Carr recommending him and also citing him as a source of influence. Some examples:

I only really know of him through Flight of the conchords, and he wasn't really any good on that, but that could just be his character on there, I will check out the vids though and get back to you!

the first video is dragging on, not really finding it much good at all, its an interesting style, but i am just not finding it very funny.

strawberry float sake, I know I said I wouldn't post until Tuesday, but I have to. Demitri Martin is brilliant. His 'If I' show that was aired on BBC3 was the best I've seen in ages. Not really a stand-up routine, but a very clever 50 minute monologue. I can really relate to a lot of his... Idiosyncrasies.

He isn't supposed to be a 'punch line every 30 seconds' comedian, so if that is the only kind of comedy you like, you won't really enjoy much of Demitri Martin's stuff.

Most of you will probably recognise him as Demitri in the final episode of Flight of the Conchords as well.

Very clever guy (have a look around for his 254 word palindrome), and check Youtube for his If I show. It is in 6 parts on there, and is very good. Like I said, not a laugh a minute stand-up, but a very good routine all the same.

His style is also very much like that of the late Mitch Hedburg.

I found him quite amusing, although not hilarious.

Yeah, I think he takes a while to grow on you, and as Igor said, he's more about persistent amusement than side-splitting hilarity, though you do get that from time to time with some of his jokes.

EDIT: Just have to post the Personal Information Waltz.

That's strange. I was thinking "Is that Dave from FOTC... no", but he was in it anyway.

Pretty funny.

Sames and opposites and the Personal Information Waltz are both awesome.

The 'sorry and I Apologise' line made me terrify the cat on my lap. She's now glaring at me.

If you can read this, you're too close.

dave is a legend, I bought the t-shirt he is pimping on the show, the one with 2 rats/mice doing it on a mouse trap!

That's Arj Barker, another funny stand-up comic. Youtube him.

Wonderfully unique.

Look at everything in a different way and he is cool.

Look at Travis - Selfish Jean video too.

From what i've seen, he's alright, and i see how he's slightly like Jimmy Carr in a way.

Not great though.

I think he's brilliant. I've seen him 3 times at the Edinburgh Festival and he was great each time. His red 'Thriller' jacket skit was priceless, the dance he did at the end of the show whilst wearing it was even better. I've still got the poem that he gave out at his first show, the whole thing is a palindrome! (just noticed you've mentioned this igor)

Shame some folk on here aren't too keen on him, one of my favourites, definitely.
