This is fast becoming a hidden gem that has me currently hooked, anyone else playing? Such a hard one to describe, part brawler, part shmup, even part puzzler (?) with a style reminiscent of El Shaddai (remember that?), which on paper you're like, huh? But once you get playing and see it, it all starts to make sense. These guys must have watched Afro Samurai too and that is very good thing.

It was the third boss that made me go, right this is a little special. Spent ages trying to figure out what was the best tactic to take the old man down.

I only just beat the jailer Doing the dash + charged melee really helped. As did attacking him when he stops to blabber .

At heart it's a boss rush game. Don't be put off by all the dying you will do, and make sure you have a look at the how to play section in the options. (You'll learn all the moves in first fight, but How To Play will really helps solidify the attack options available to you during sections of a fight.)

El Shaddai! Yeah it totally reminds me of that. I stopped playing that at some rubbish platforming bit, but this looks like it's all fighting. Looking forward to trying - and becoming infuriated by - it.

Beat the second boss last night. The next one is a slag. Bullet hell with a scatty old chap nipping about slapping my chops.
I'm very in love with this game.

Tha's what made me start applauding the game! Hard as hell but I wasn't expecting that level of Shmup

The old man fight though Very satisfying finishing it

I switched off El Shaddai for the very same reason Zero platform sections in this (so far), pure combat.

This game feels like a Platinum game, it's so so good.

Tried this the other day. When it told me to press R2 to shoot a charged shot, I did. And no charged shot appeared, despite my best efforts. So I played something else instead.

You have to aim the shot with the right stick...

Does this require you to remember loads of combos etc?

Combos? No. But you do need to be able to remember various moves.

It's like if platinum made dark souls bosses.

Perhaps you can go spam their facebook page with gifs and smilies, as you clearly know better than they do.

Well no one else has posted about that problem. Why would I assume it was a bug? it just sounded like you were being dismissive of the game.

I can confirm I too had that issue.

Whenever I have all my health bars I die pretty quickly. Whenever I have less than all, I make much better progress but then strawberry float up at pretty much the final hurdle.

Second boss tip: walk on the pads in centre of room for easy counter opening. There are also pillars you can shoot which give you a similar kind of chance to get attacks in on her. Both will eventually respawn.
