5 was ace, 6 was one of the most fun cinema experiences I've ever had (it was like everyone was drunk, there was hysterical laughter and loads of people saying "Oh strawberry float off!" after the bridge moment) so I'll see this, even if it is pants.

Kurt Russell!

Would love this to get anywhere near as fun as 5.

Same man 5 and 6 are modern action movie classics I'm sure. 100 times better than the expendables gooseberry fool anyway.

This looks great too.

Agree, wipes the floor with the expendables. It's amazing how this franchise has been resurrected so successfully. 100% down to the great one! 8-)

Just watched Fast5 for the first time since the cinema. It was on Netflix Canada, there were a few bits where everyone was speaking Portuguese, but there were no subs. Is this a Netflix bug or does the film just not have them?

Do the ones prior to 5 hold up? I watched them when I was young so my only memory is of some ridiculous scene where a car drives under a lorry (was that in 2?)

I didn't think the first 4 were that good anyway and a recent ITV 2 rewatch of one of them confirmed that. For films supposed to be about driving fast cars fast they never portrayed a sense of speed very well. There's only so many times you can shift gears down.

The earlier ones were more focused on the 'culture'. Anyone who knows cars knows its all a load of gooseberry fool, doesnt mean it isnt entertaining.

I watched them all last year. 1 to 3 are kind of middling, 4 I felt was overlong, 5 and 6 are the good stuff. I also enjoyed mentally tallying the myriad appearances of "bro" and its variants that pepper the dialogue in 2.

One of my lasting memories of the franchise is me and my mates being so drunk at the cinema that, to this day, none of us know what the strawberry float happened in movie except for the fact that there were secret tunnels to Mexico.

Unrealistic, stupid, senseless, plotless and dumb.

I love it.
