Age has nothing to do with atmosphere. Silent Hill 2 still has more atmosphere than any other horror game before or since. Has nothing to do with visuals or age, it's a perfectly legitimate comparison.

I think it is you who is missing the point. The point is that Ravenholme is awesome. It is awesome not because of atmosphere, but of the things you can do.

Ravenholm was supposed to be atmospheric and scary, it was neither. Considering the whole point of this thread is scariness in Half-Life, the fact you can throw gooseberry fool around makes no difference whatsoever.
