That random pug seemed more out of place in a Game of Thrones episode than a Starbucks cup.

I'm liking this so far. There's less 4D chess behind the scheming so far, so there's less opportunity for upsets and revelations, it's more a study in arrogance as a bunch of stupid pillocks continue to make stupid pillock decisions without thinking the consequences through.

But hey, Targaryens gonna Targaryen.

Not sure if I can get into this yet.

It's filmed well and it's great being back in the GoT world.
But I... Just don't give a gooseberry fool about any of these characters.
I cant seem to get invested in any of them or their plot line.

Anyone else? Or just me?

I watched episode 4 last night, still not watched episode 3 yet :fp:

I’m still very much of the opinion that it’s good, but not great. One thing I’m not a fan of is them trying to shoehorn (well that’s what it feels like) the upcoming Long Night being a huge part of the Targaryens history and trying to add a lot of history to Catspaw as it was the dagger that ended the Night King. I’ve no idea if this is actually in the book or not, but it feels like it’s a very much show only addition.

It's definitely not in the book as the book is an in-world sanitised history written by a maester who doesn't know everything which happened.

So a perfect series to add such things too then, makes more sense. I thought it was part history, part short stories (which I guess it could be in a way?) kind of book.

Can I just ask something..about Ep5.

At the end there Matt Smith Daemon was stood with rhaenyra. And then it all kicked off. Cristen is decking laenors boyfriend for some reason (I must have missed something? Apart from him trying to blackmail cristen?).

Then sudden Matt Smith is nowhere to be seen. Vanished like a fart in the wind?
Where and why did he leg it?

I assume it's just for dramatic effect. With what happens next episode I doubt you'll get an answer. Very good episode anyway.

Well, they did it.
Time jump!

Really enjoyed this episode. The expanded cast makes the show feel less linear, and the scope wider. Great stuff.

Something to note: not sure if it'll be in this season or not, but there is going to be another time jump as roles such as Aegon have older actors in place. I'm guessing they'll jump another 10 years but only recast the children.

Great episode again. Really enjoying this series. Fantastic stuff. I do wonder though how many seasons they are planning with all these time jumps. I’m assuming it will slow down at some point as there is a lot more story to be told when the kids grow up a bit more.

Can they stop making this show soo strawberry floating dark? Some of the scenes this week were ridiculous, could barely see a thing.

Yeah I agree. It was so stupid. What the hell was the need. Half those scene could have just been on the day time and why didn't they have loads of torches burning when they were out on the balcony at night time  it was ridiculous.
