But you saw a thread about a GoT prequel and thought “Oooo I better read that!”? :?

Why not? 99% of people here do it, why the strawberry float can't I?

Where did I say you couldn’t?

It’s just weird. Like the people that comment on news stories with “I DUNT CARE!!”. So why read and then bother to comment?

Again why not? What is wrong with reading something and then saying that I was not a fan of GoT and have no real interest in this. I didn't realise that posts were only meant to be showing how much people love the show.

You’re entitled to pop into a thread to say “I have no interest in all of this thread and thought I better let you all know” and I’m entitled to say that doing that is weird.

My time hasn’t been wasted, I like GoT. I’m not the one reading and replying to a thread I have no interest in.

The earlier series of GoT were so much better than the recent ones. I'd even argue that season 7 was a big bag of stinky gooseberry fool. I feel though that this prequel will be poo pants also. No way will they capture the magic of the first few series again.

EDIT - Actually, the more I think about it, the more a prequel feels like a very thick, cold, disease ridden butt plug being shoved, very violenty, up my rectal passage. I thought HBO knew better than to rape but I guess I was wrong.

Could be great if they explore the eastern part of the world, which people barely know anything about. There's some really great lore for that part of the world.

No hype for this at all. If anything I’m just annoyed that George RR Martin is doing yet another project that delays his next book.
Indulgent banana split.

I genuinely do think it’s the former.
It got away from him with Feast for Crows when he split the timelines and he’s never got it back. I genuinely don’t think we’ll see the end. The TV show will be our only denouement.

Freud would have had a field day with some of the words and analogies you've been using over the weekend.

After lengthy negotiations, Naomi Watts has signed on to lead the ensemble cast of HBO’s Game Of Thrones prequel pilot, from writer Jane Goldman and author/GOTco-executive producer George R.R. Martin.

Created by Goldman and Martin and written by Goldman based on a story by her and Martin, the untitled prequel takes place thousands of years before the events of Game Of Thrones. It chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.

The creative team behind the project is not giving away much about Watts’ character — she will play a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.

As much as it pains me to admit, I think you're right.

We might get a version finished by someone else a few years after he dies, a-la Wheel of Time but it won't be very good.

He's just making sure he does justice to the immensity of Cersei's victory.

Her victory celebration will take up 90% of this book and all the last book so he has to end the war in about 40 pages.
