Unless one of them ends up being turned into a White Walker

I wonder if Bran could warg into the reanimated dragon and Jon gets to ride it that way, maybe the Night King has made a mistake by bringing it back to life.

I don't think we've seen the full extent of what Bran can do.

Didn't that old bloke in that tree say as much? "You'll fly one day" or something.

Bran will no doubt deus ex machina the zombie dragon just as all hope is lost after teleporting to the battlefield.

I have a feeling that the Night King and White Walkers are wargs that can control multiple 'hosts' and switch between them at will, that would explain why killing a walker 'kills' all the nearby wights

I saw a theory the other day that sounds plausible but I hope isn't true.

Spoilered in case it's true:

Bran will go back in time to stop the Night King but it will turn out that he actually is the Night King.

Sounds like something the stupid little gooseberry fool will do, but it would be desperately disappointing if they do that.

I'd be surprised if something like that doesn't happen since we got a pretty massive chekov's gun in Hodor's death and the whole influencing the past thing it opened that is still unfired properly.

Something significant is going to happen with it, surely.

Along that vein there's also the old-ish theory that Mad King Aerys was mad because Bran tried to make him not do crazy gooseberry fool but all Aerys heard was weird voices in his head which made him a Mad King and do mad crazy gooseberry fool as a result.

On the other hand you could say the Chekov's Gun was Ned seeming to hear Bran when he called out during the Tower of Joy scene and then hold the door was the gun being fired. It's a cool angle that I'd like to see explored but then also I can see them making it dumb and contrived if they do so I'm in two minds.

I'm sure an army in that just pile up on top of dead bodies to fill in a giant canyon or something, dunno why the undead didn't do that.

I mentioned that the other day. Would have made such a cool as strawberry float scene!

How deep was the water? There might not have been enough undead to fill it or the Night King might not have wanted to sacrifice a he portion of his army when he knew the water was going to freeze in a few hours.

It would have been a cool (pun intended) scene though.

The deeper the better. Why? It would just show the number of Walkers at NK's disposal! (Which the show has done its utmost to make us believe is all but limitless.) Like he'd sacrifice all that lot that gave chase after hearing the kidnapped Walker's scream and then, later, they cut to another shot of *yet more* Walkers, lots and lots and lots of them, making their way to East Watch.

They did actually do that in a roundabout way because, when the Fellowship of the Harebrained Scheme fell back to slightly high ground, the walkers on the other side (the direction Jon was facing) did clambers upon one another to gain access to it.

I like that.

I've heard a lot of that bran theory in the last few days. It stems from the fact the NK is different in the books and has a different origin and isn't a walker or have powers.

Not sure I like this whole theory, or the time travel/manipulating past events plot point that Bran has going.

Story is complex enough without throwing that into it. It's 100% necessary for him to be a window to the past, but having the ability to influence things is just a bit too much for this.

If time travel stuff happened then it would remind me of that show and not in a good way.

Bran should go back in time and tell himself not to be such a boring bastard.

That's why they have this confused other worldly aspect to him. He's there to oppose the NK and needs to hone his skill and learn to concentrate on combatting him. So far he's been found wanting - tragically so.

Otherwise he's too overpowered.

Making him the NK would be a nonsensical move and it has come about from fevered speculation from people who are confused by the two very different Characters in the books and TV

Cool idea - awful tv plot or path to take. As Ad7 says in his own inimitable way.

Everyone knows the Night King is Ned Stark getting epic revenge for being bumped off in series 1.
The guy who chucked the arrow is Khal Drogo.
