I'm away on holiday for the finale. Are there any reliable streaming websites out there ...

Finale predictions:

-Given that the episode title is "The Dragon and the Wolf" I'm expecting some nephew/aunt incest and either Sam or Bran to find out who Jon's father is. Is it too much to hope for a Rhaegar/Lyanna flashback as well?
-Cersei to act in character and do something stupid. Try to arrest Tyrion?
-Somebody's dying in Winterfell, hopefully Littlefinger. If either Sansa or Arya kill each other I'm mentally writing that entire plotline off.
- With 6 episodes after this today must surely be the day The Wall comes down. Either zombie dragon melts it or flies Night King over which cancels out the magic or something.

Somewhat unhyped though. I think I'm actually looking forward to the new episode of Twin Peaks more.

Yep, that pretty much covers everything that happened in that episode.

Huh? I thought this was the US pace thread?

I enjoyed the finale. There were a few bits that'll get pulled apart but nothing that bothered me.

Genuinely for a second thought they were going to kill Jaime as a shock death, I like the character but kind of wish they had!

Sam and Bran scene didn't make much sense, Sam completely ignored Gilly when she read the book but then suddenly knows the whole story. Bran knows everything but never bothered to check if his aunt was married?

That section of the Wall didn't come down as spectacularly as I was hoping!

Cersei is a massive twat.

I kind of knew this was going to happen though - if you watch the scene (with Gilly reading) again, you'll see Sam is 'ignoring' her throughout, but when he loses his rag with her, he quotes the extremely long number she just read back at him verbatim. Suggesting that while he's trying to focus on his own book, he can't help but hear - and remember - everything she tells him.

Yeah but he went from absolutely ignoring her to "guess what I found out!!!". Stealing her credit, stupid fat Sam. :x

I enjoyed the Finale, but feel slightly let down as there was no megatons. Everything had been guessed and or speculated beforehand.

Still can't wait to see what happens next!

So did Tormund and Beric die as the wall collapsed. The scene after showing the undead army marching through hole suggests no survivors but they are too big characters for them not to show confirmation. I'm half expecting them to wake up in pile of rubble dust themselves off and make to winterfell ahead of the zombie army

They started running when they saw the dragon so I'm guessing they got away.

Although they never showed Stannis dying so who knows?

Sadly - the script that leaked appears to have been genuine and pretty much every plot point was available. These idiots on YouTube who've been trying to appear wise and uncannily accurate have just read those scripts or bits of them,

I guessed little finger would do what he'd do but all the other stuff was pretty much laid out.

It's been a great season for me - criticisms aside. Lots of great set pieces and still enough quiet, dark and often poignant moments of character. Love how some of the seven season long arcs have been fully realised. Perhaps that's a bigger reason why it's seemed predictable - as I've said this season has been almost all payoff.

It was a good episode but disappointingly predictable. While I would have hated Jaime being murdered at least it would have been surprising and I think at least one Lannister should have died. I was half-expecting Tyrion to try to assassinate Cersei in their meeting to gift Dany the throne.

-Since when does obsidian work on the zombies?
-Why is Rhaegar naming two of his kids Aegon?

Presumably he read it off-screen but yeah why not just have him hear the whole passage in that earlier scene with Gilly?

Ironically I hadn't heard any spoilers for this episode. I don't know why anyone would want to read leaked scripts, leaked episodes sure.

Wasn't Rhaegar dead by the time Jon was born? I assume in the show that the first Aegon was dead also by the time Jon was born.

Rhaegar was dead yeah but I can't remember if Elia Martell and his other kids were. Even so though you'd assume Rhaegar and Lyanna had discussed baby names.

I can't remember if the kids were or not or even if it was ever mentioned. I can't imagine the writers would have missed that Rhaegar already had a kid called Aegon so either there's a reason for having two with the same name or they were already dead and Lyanna decided to honour the dead boy.

Rhaegar was dead and Lyanna chose the name.

Jorah used obsidian daggers last week.

As for the lack of deaths? Jesus I remember when we used to express outrage at characters being murdered. It's now become a disappointment when they don't? :slol:

We'll see if we're still disappointed at the end of 8. I think there will be deaths galore. Enough to satisfy everyone.
