I'm grateful for the lack of S5 pacing this time out but it feels for the first time like the show is too big, with too many characters. The number of supposed 'starring cast' missing from each episode is crazy, and the storylines zip along at an absurd pace. There's no character development any more, just event followed by event followed by event. Still, this week's was a pretty cool episode, and another welcome return of a couple of minor but good characters.

10 minutes into episode.

The Hound  "you're gooseberry fool at dying"

The Mountain  *silence but violence*

That's quite a recovery from a couple of serious stab wounds with Arya. Can this whole storyline be over and never returned to again, please. Thanks. What a waste of time.

The Hound is strawberry floating brilliant. That kind of dark humour is what the show's been missing ever since he "died".

Danaery's bosoms looked strawberry floating glorious as she walked into that room :datass:

Well that was fairly boring - but Arya's side trip and Blackfish return wrapped in rather perfunctory manners. Arya's sidetrip now feels fairly pointless (although now she's trained....but that's a lot of screentime for nothing. How's Dorne doing btw?)

Cersi's totally gonna blow the entire place up. :slol:

Yeah, was thinking that, seemed rather convenient that the actress had plenty of experience with treating stab wounds too. Those theories about Arya being someone else wearing Arya's face to explain her apparent incompetence in getting stabbed in the first place were pretty off the mark then

Ah yes, those 'starring' cast members in Dorne.

Speaking of which, the 'starring' cast in GoT is a joke.
I mean look at this.

Starring cast member Aiden Gillen (Petyr Baelish), 2 appearances in season six out of 8 episodes.
Jerome Flynn (Bronn), 2 appearances.
John Bradley (Samwell Tarley), 2 appearances.
Hannah Murray (Gilly), 2 appearances.
Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), 1 appearance.

Why bother listing them as stars?

Meanwhile Grey Worm, Podrick, the Mountain and Dolorous Edd - all officially guest stars - have been in five of the 8 episodes so far.
The Waif has been in every episode so far this season bar one. "Guest cast."

That would be very much in line with Ellaria's comment of "weak men will never rule Dorne again".

No matter what you think of Daenerys, the one thing we can agree on is that she's not a weak man.

Arya has been utterly wasted for 2 years. What was the strawberry floating point other than to show she can fight in the dark?

The rest of the episode was great. The Hound and Bronn/Pod brought the comedy, Blackfish was great, Jaimie showed he had honour even when threatening to catapult a baby into a wall ( ), Cersei is going to burn everyone, Tommen's strawberry floated up and the Mountain can't even be stopped with an axe to the chest.

6x08-

-Arya managed to survive being stabbed repeatedly in the abdomen. :simper:
- Tommen deprives us of a Mountain/Sandor trial by combat. :simper:
- Blackfish dies off-screen. :simper:

Next week's promo though. :datass:

Hound continues to be brilliant. Bronn/Pod stuff was great, too.

Pretty much everyone died off - screen this week unless they were killed by a Clegane.

 How come whenever someone says "banana split" on this show it's a work of comic genius.

Good episode this week. Flew by. Next week looks great, I really hope it's a whole episode just based on the battle of winterfell. Shame brienne couldn't have the Tully army now that they are no longer required at riverrun.

Im off to the digital spy forum to take the piss out of all the idiots who were convinced that ayra wasn't really stabbed and that someone else must have been wearing her face as there's no way she's stupid enough to get stabbed that easily.

I like to think as it's mostly filmed in Ireland the showrunners are picking up the many quirky uses of the profaner words in English from us cunty mouthed locals.

You wait and wait for a Clegane to do something awesome and then they both do.  8-)

Gregor was immense but loved the axe work and chat from Sandor.

Liked that he is still contemplating redemption. He's obviously going to kill a fuckload of wights. 8-)

Hopefully that's the end of Arya's arc now. Liked how she tricked the waif. Could have been done in a fraction of the time of course.

Looking forward to next week's show immensely.
