Given all that scandal around SD paying less than minimum wage (which I can only assume they've addressed) then you'd want/expect them to have lower profits. They're actually paying their staff properly now.

You'd think so, Laga, but business takes the view:

> 2015 profits of £100m "are an indicator of solid business strategy"
> 2016 profits of £104m "demonstrate a significant increase in direction and performance"
> 2017 profits of £99m "are very disappointing and so hundreds of lower-paid staff will be sacked"

People invest in shares in the hope that the business will grow and their shares will increase in value. Post-growth businesses are not attractive investments.

Yes it's unsustainable.

I'm sure Ashley's investment in Game will turn things around. :slol:

Sports Direct still made £113m in profits though. That might be less than they made the previous year, but that's still a very healthy business.

In truth I wasn't aware of that. Typical of EG to not report the whole picture. Clicks and hits.

It's silly, but that's capitalism for you.

Dat moment when you have all the stuff they have :datass:

Would be pretty cool for a meet actually, go to the pub for a few hours, have a few hours gaming with a group of you then go to another pub.

Yeah but the downside is you have to go to Bristol.

Laga's joke is a classic, but it doesn't really work with awesome places.

Cold, next day pizza is the best though. It makes sense to charge more for it.

It's a great place to go out, the fact that you know your chances of making it out alive at the end of the night are only 50/50 only adds to the fun and excitement.

Takeaway pizza is ALWAYS undercooked as they get it out to you as soon as possible. I always turn the oven on so I can cook it for an extra few minutes!

Physical sales down 20% year on year. Game shares fall 2.5% year on year

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/physical ... ar/0185546

The report claims people are buying less games. People buying more games digitally is probably closer to the truth in the decline of physical sales.
