I don't understand the appeal. European and British chocolate and sweets are far superior, and actually contain real cane sugar instead of HFCS nonsense.

There are some variants that are nice, such as mint M&Ms. And it's really great to have Flipz widely available again. But yes, I have noticed American products are loaded with a load more additives, colourants and syrups we're not used to. And they're not transparent about it, thus they're relabeled at the back for our benefit.

Nothing like selling a kids cereal and on the packet is the health warning equivalent of 'this product may cause adverse effects on kids'.

Novelty and americanisation (or should that be americanization?). I've tried a fair amount of imported US foodstuffs and I've not been a fan of any of it - I think a lot of people just want to like it to be different. I think that fits with the psychology that drives people to get deep into subcultures, like being a "gamer" - american mountain dew and doritos included.

Trying a twinkie after watching zombieland is one of the most disappointing experiences of my life. It was genuinely awful.

I have to admit I do love Reeses Peanut Butter cups though.

High fructose corn syrup soft drinks are the best.

Although a lot of shops do these products at I'm sure a better price than Game.

I really like mountain dew and jelly belly jelly beans. Not that I ever really go out of my way to buy them.

I'm fairly certain my brother has an addiction to Mountain Dew. He's forever asking me to get him massive packs of it from Makro.

Surely Combos are the obvious American snack to stock? Not only are they tasty (pretzel pieces with pizza flavoured filling) they're named after a videogaming term.

The local Bums & Meffs (B&M) stock loads of American sweets and candies. Had boxes of Twinkies (10 packs for £1.99) original, banana and Ghostbuster themed ones. Babyruth bars too

I’ve had both the honey mustard and hot buffalo wing sauce flavour Pringles out of there recently...not cheap at £3.50 a go but that seems about sverage for the imported American ones. Beats the sour cream and chive ones every time.

No Pringles at all is better than the Sour Cream and Chive ones.

Gave Game a chance since their online Switch deals were good, went in, no bundles whatsoever in store :simper: Also Zelda BOTW £59.99 :slol: Last time even consider them. Smyths - the toy shop - gooseberry fool all over them now.

I don't mind American food stuffs but that's mostly because I only have them once in a while. (Once every few months, tops.) Death Rain Jalapeno Cheddar > Vast majority of the pricier UK crisps.

I went into Game Trafford Centre this weekend to collect a Marshadow code and the guy gave me an extra one when I asked which was nice. Surprised to see they have internet cafes inside now too, it seemed well populated.

I don’t even think of going into Game when I want a game, I certainly will not be thinking of them when I want some American snacks.

I would never ever ever buy a game in a physical shop, let alone game, because online is always cheaper and I don't have to deal with people.
