I reckon about 90% of my PS4 purchases are digital now. The launch pricing of games remains pretty silly but there are some great deals available in the sales. On my Switch and 3DS the picture is reversed, though, with around 90% of my purchases being on physical media.

When I do buy a physical copy it is always from an online retailer. The GAME stores near to me seem to have a poor selection of games and high prices, whilst my local Tesco and Morrison stores - whilst both large - have an awful selection of games and are usually out of stock.

I'm mostly digital on PS4 now. Picking up so many things in sales on PSN, not to mention the PS+ offerings mean I'm well up to around 250 games on the account.

Which doesn't even include the 8/9 disc games I have either.

It's rare I get something on launch day digitally though. Far too expensive on PSN. Though I will admit there have been some regrettable drunk purchases.

I did have a stage of buying too much stuff on PSN... looking back, it was pretty silly, especially where I bought games at launch and then barely played them. I'm getting better, though, and questioning whether I will actually play the game before getting it. Having less dough to spend on gaming is a big factor, too  .

I don’t have much time available for gaming anymore and so buy a lot less than I used to and am content to wait until games I want are on sale for a decent price.

I only own one physical game now, GTA:V on the Xbone and I only have that disc because the game is never available on a really cheap offer. All my other games are now digital.

It's half price on Xbox One this week!

I think I only have 4 physical PS4 games - MGS5, PES16, GTA5 and...something? Witcher 3 maybe? I dunno.

Everything else (Skyrim, Diablo 3, NMS, Minecraft) is digital.

Half price being £25ish?

I have owned the game physically on 360 and now on Xbone. If am going to triple dip on a 4 year old game then it needs to be well below £20.

I just checked. £27.50.

That's not a decent sale price imo for a game I already own.

No, erm you mention it hasn't been on sale for a good price, I just meme'd that it's 50% off my dude.

My gif is my reaction to you missing the point.

On console I'm probably 60-40 digital vs physical. Now I have swiched back to Virgin Media with their 200Mbps package (yesterday in fact) I can see that figure moving even more in favour of digital. Until Dawn took under an hour to download in its entirety. Much, much faster than what I've been used to.

I'll still buy the odd new physical release on ps4 as PSN is quite pricey for new titles. Generally though I'd prefer to wait for a price cut on PSN. Trading in physical copies is a waste of time these days as you'll often get very little in return.

PC is 100% digital, naturally.

No, erm I mentioned it hadn't been on sale for a good price, 50% off of £55 for a 4 year old game that I have already owned twice is not a good price.

I like being serious.

The price is quite literally the point. The game could be on sale for 99% off, but if the full price is £100,000 then I wouldn't consider it a great sale price.

You forget this is a microsoft sale and is therefore the best sale of the year and all years.

I like buying discs, I would like to get more. I tend to rent games and the ones I like I buy when cheap when it comes to consoles. PC is different I don't get the same thing with discs unfortunately.

Have you got any switches?

'No'. Happened five times, probably not their fault, but they lost business.

Ok, I'll just take Breath of the Wild on Wii U.

'Ok, we only have it pre-owned. That will be £56'

'Argos are selling it NEW for £50.'

'Yeah...we know...'

Hardly surprised they are struggling. The guy in the Leamington Spa branch is a decent guy but the stock level outside the casual market is none existent.
