Awesome machine. One game from it I'm going to nominate is one called Splodge, which doesn't even appear to have any information/screenshots online. I remember it being a really decent puzzle-platformer where you played as a red blob crawling and bouncing through levels. Had a really nice (if not half odd) style to it.

 Holy gooseberry fool - I'd forgotten all of those existed! Apart from Mad Professor that is, which I posted a few pages back... ;) But the others!

The memories are flooding back now.

I remember playing E-Type, not exactly sure where, but I remember the game.

I presume everyone remembers Lander?

We used to have Archimedes machines at school, I used to love Bughunter which they kept on the systems for some reason.

As for the Amiga there are two games that I have fond memories of playing 3-4 players at my freinds house that I don't think anyone else has mentioned yet which were Moonstone and Robosport. Moonstone was mainly fun because it was so gory (for back then) and it was so satisfying to lop your friends head off if you had to fight each other. Robosport was a turn-based combat game where you started off with a team of 5 robots that you could kit out then you'd each take it in turns to set up movment and firing options and then watch as each round played out.

Oh and It Came From The Desert which was brilliant if overly hard in places, I never could escape from the hospital :(

There is a player decapitation at around 6.30

Was that the one with giant ants? I could never get anywhere either, it was well hard.

That's the one, you killed them by shooting one antenna, then the other and finished them off with a head shot. The easiest way to finish it was to sit in your house for days until you could skip right to the end fight, I don't think I ever finished it legitimately.

Yes I do. They use to do a competition involving it on a Saturday morning kid's show, I think it was Motormouth. I'm pretty sure it strated there actually and was then developed into a full game.

X-Out.

Was this 'Kid Gloves' game Magic Pockets? That used to be featured on Motormouth.

There was also 720 degrees, which used to feature on a kids programme I used to watch. I think it was called 'Beat the Teacher'.

MegaRace 2:

The track was far too narrow, and the acting was shite, but the pre-rendered backgrounds seemed like the future.

The ones that spring to mind for me which I put a lot of time into are probably

Rock Star Ate Mt Hamster - Amstrad
Ground Zero Texas - Mega CD
Metal Head 32X

When I look back at them all now, they seem pretty dreadful, but in the day I loved them.

Yep, another Amiga game I had completely forgotten about. I'm only just realising how many games I actually had for that thing.

Ah, Shufflepuck Café. Remember playing it on my mate's Atari ST, before I had my Amiga.

Early 90s sandbox. Just lovely.

Also...

Not too sure if this is so obscure these days, as must have attracted a wee bit of attention when - along with only 2 other games - was awarded a posthumous 10 out of 10 by Edge. Only recently completed it on an Emulator.

God, I remember that! I used to think it was called DeathRace and was a tie-in to the movie. I remember thinking it looked absolutely amazing.

Intellivision

Big family, so this was bought for my older brothers and sister when I was just a nipper, and was my first foray into gaming. Cost an absolute fortune. released 1980 with a price tag of US$299. So god knows what that is by todays rates. Prob like buying an Xbox for £1000

I have no idea if it's obscure, but my younger self bypassed the first 2 Monkey Island games and instead plumped for...Simon the Sorcerer 2. It was good!
