Anyone having any issues with Gameseek recently? Pre-ordered physical copy of Shantae on Switch ages ago and not been dispatched despite being out over a week. Website has been down for 2 days and Twitter seems full of people moaning about not receiving orders. :x

Obvs extra annoying as they charge on order.

I’ve heard nothing but bad things for the past year, the whole shenanigans with selling cheap Switches last year pissed a lot of people off as well

After that issue I never want to do business with them again.

Awful company, avoid.

Yeah, I think I might have ordered some things in the past, but recently I ordered something which was never dispatched and had no communication from them, so never again

Not used them in probably about 3 or 4 years, didn't have any issues then but sounds like things have changed.

Will see what happens next week. Rumours abounding that they've gone bust, but people might be getting ahead of themselves hopefully. Certainly wouldn't use them again.

Only ever used Gameseek once for a copy of BoTW for Wii U. It arrived on time so can't complain. Speaking to others who have used Gameseek more regularly they're generally not held in high praise.

They are now going into liquidation. Best wishes to all families affected by this news.

Eurogamer just reported said liquidation. Some customers out of pocket as a result

Hopefully those customers can claim back money via other means. Credit card users could potentially be protected by Section 75, otherwise possibly chargeback alongside debit card users.
Not sure if PayPal will have protection in place for this though.

Paypal usually do.

Unless it’s Amazon, I don’t think anyone should bother preordering stuff months before the game is out. I just don’t see the point as a lot of these retailers take money first. Where as Amazon and ShopTo don’t.

UK market has lost grainger games and Gameseek already this year. GAME are not to be trusted.

So only ShopTo, thegamecollection and simplygames left that I use. So I hope all of those don’t have any issues.

Just seen this on Twitter.

Eurogamer have asked the guy for more info on twitter. But does explain a lot.

I think I've used videogamebox.co.uk before but its website appears to have been down for a few hours maintenance for weeks now

I still use ShopTo for my Switch purchases; their website is atrocious for searching but the service remains excellent.

I use Base.com a lot more for purchases, they always seem to be the cheapest

With all these others going it makes you wonder how Game actually keep going.

Game are moving away from physical media and into esports via concessions in Sports Soccer. To quote Game CEO, Martyn Gibbs:

"We have devised a strong growth strategy and are now well positioned to drive the transformation of our business, as we move from a seller of physical products to a provider of gaming experiences.”

Without Mike Ashley's intervention I strongly suspect Game would just disappear.
