Midnight onwards is really the only time I get to play something.

I'm working a lot recently and even though I plan to game during the day, I usually end up getting distracted and doing something, especially when the weather is nice. Take today, for example: I want to start Tales of Symphonia, as I've got nothing on until 8pm tonight, but I know I won't manage to do that.

Instead, I'll stick the console on at around 12:30am when there's nothing to distract me, and play til about 3am. It's the only time I can play without feeling as if I've wasted time. In contrast, I see time after 1am as "gained time" as everyone else is asleep.

I learned how to just turn off consoles and such at 12pm, or just not play when its getting late. I tend to go on PC to chat till I'm tired, so I drift back to sleep. However, sometimes I have sleeping problems and can't sleep at all, and what makes it worse is that I just gave up in end and play my Xbox 360 or PC (TF2/Deus) till I feel REALLY tired. Most of time it's fine till 7am, which makes things worse.

Also I kept getting dreaming about games when I go to sleep. I think I need to stop playing before 10/11 and recover & hope I don't get dreams anymore....

I tend to work all day, talk on MSN, FB and on here whilst playing on my XBOX till 4am. Or I see my gf when she comes up :)

I'm healthy, don't see a problem as im a young student but maybe in 5 years time it will be a problem lol.

I tend not to play games past 10pm during the week. Not due to insomnia or anything. The simple fact is that whenever I play games for a while and then go to bed I start dreaming about the game or the game gets incorporated into my dreams. It happened whenever I first played Fallout 3 for hours on end, and most recently it's happened with Puzzle Quest and Numblast. The puzzle games in particular does my strawberry floating head in and I never get a good sleep.

I blame that on playing video games for 20years now, it's completely killed my need to sleep

Maybe it's possible that you have simply forgotten how it feels to have more sleep or don't understand the subtle symptoms of sleep deprivation.. I would try getting at least 7hrs sleep for a week to see how it makes you feel...

I could be described as an insomniac but the truth is I just focus on something I'm involved in too much and don't pay attention to my body's need to eat or sleep.

Unless it's a game Im really into I don't really have any problem putting down the controller. When I was jobless last year though and the LBP demo came out! My god the level editor just inhaled my sleep time.
