Oh if you haven't already got it, buy Thumper. Currently on sale, its not PSVR exclusive, but it is enhanced by playing in VR.

Well, not quite instant as I have to get through the work day first. Got RE7, Superhot and Gran Turismo, will buy Batman VR and Tumble from the store when I get home.

Please share your experiences here so those of us that can’t afford/can’t handle VR can enjoy it vicariously :D

First of all, the amount of extra cables was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. Set up was surprisingly easy!

First thing we tried was Ocean Descent from VR Worlds and it's probably the perfect thing to start off since there's no movement. Definitely got that 'wow factor', and almost everyone was reaching out to try and touch things  I tried GT next and maybe that wasn't such a great idea. It didn't make me feel sick, but I could definitely feel a little disorientation with it. Next went into YouTube VR, watched a couple of impressive videos, until a 'lego roller coaster' popped up on recommended. Another mistake! I'm putting it down to the video being terrible. Kind of jerky, and the roller coaster didn't... um... roll like you'd expect it to. Turned it off at that point to have a little break.

Came back a few hours later to try Batman and it was even more amazing than the Ocean Descent experience. Absolutely loved it. When I play games, I tend to be quite focused on the current goal. I'm not one of these people that just wanders off to explore, but these VR games really make me want to slow down and look at EVERYTHING. Finished off by watching Jurassic Park in 3D. Not sure I'll watch many films like this because of the resolution, but I can see myself doing it now and then, and it was nice to watch something without being distracted by my phone

Planning to give the Kitchen demo a try later. I know it's going to scare the gooseberry fool out of me, but another experience where you are static would be good to help ease me in I think. Then going to give GT another bash. Will pick a track that's not an oval with banks, and will stop trying to race and maybe just go for a slow drive around a more scenic track.

Also, I started using my Playstation Wireless headset, but found the earbuds that come with the VR unit actually sounded better just because of the awkward fit with the wireless headset over the top of the VR headset.

BBC have updated their article on watching the World Cup in VR:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44038006

How do I access it?
Users will need to download the BBC Sport World Cup VR app, which is now available via the links below on:

Android
iOS
Oculus and Samsung Gear VR
Sony Playstation VR users will be able to access it via the Playstation store.

You will also need a VR or 360 device to watch the matches, and an internet connection in order to download the app and stream the matches.

Please note: the BBC Sport World Cup VR app is separate from the main BBC Sport app - it is a standalone app purely for this virtual reality experience.

Doesn't look like it's on the PS store yet, but BBC's first game isn't until tomorrow.

So I have been back and forwards about getting a VR. I have five games already compatible with the system. Those who have one are you still enjoying them?

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

Yep. I took my PSVR kit to a mate’s house I was stopping at over the weekend and he was amazed by it all and is now going to get one.

He’s a massive GT Sport player (hardly plays anything else) but Rush of Blood in particular was his favourite. Driveclub VR too. We didn’t get that much time (went to see the Foo Fighters) but had to tear him off it essentially when it was time for me to go.

Recommended without a doubt

Yeah that's fine, th only real difference is that the PS3 version uses a difference charger.

And a smaller battery than the new ones.

Mine just arrived yesterday and... it's fine. First the complaints:
It has absolutely terrible warping if it's not perfectly centered, which I'm finding pretty difficult to do quickly and consistently.
The strap is not that much better than even the default Vive strap (and worse than the Vive's DAS in my experience).
I get quite a bit of eye strain after about an hour of playing (IPD is set correctly), then pain in my temples after that (might be on too tight, but it kind of needs to be if I want it as close as possible to me face (which it needs for everything to be in focus and to block as much outside light as possible).
The tracking is lacking compared to the Vive (as expected), but better than I'd been led to believe. The London Heist in particular was quite bad during the heist section, controller tracking kept dropping out when I was leaning around the desk and aiming the gun. Might be improved once I mount the camera on the wall above my monitor giving it some extra height and distance.

The good:
The screen is surprisingly good all things considered and the "games" I've played so far (VR Worlds and Playroom VR) have been mostly good. The DualShock being tracked definitely leads to some interesting gameplay you can't really get with PC VR.
Not sure it'll see much use from me until Dreams launches. Just not that many exlusives that appeal to me. Statik might be the only one to really pique my interest. Ghost Giant looks good as well, but that's not out yet.
If I hadn't already bought Moss on PC I'd get that. Double dipping for the improved controls is tempting... aside from the cost and it not really being that bad with the Vive wands.

Man, if the rest of the puzzles in Statik are even half as good as the one in the demo... Puzzle itch, prepare to get scratched!

Statik is awesome, has been cheap recently though, might be worth waiting for it to be in a sale unless you really want to play it.

In terms of exclusives, if you don't already have it, pick up Battlefront for £3.99 off the store (its on sale till the 4th of July) and get yourself the free X-Wing mission. Even if you have no intention of ever playing Battlefront, the VR mission is definitely worth £4 even though its basically just a 20 minute demo.

EDIT - Other than that I'd say Polybius is worth getting as is Farpoint with the AIM controller (currently £50 on Amazon).

All of that, sadly, looks a bit dull to me. Thanks for the effort though.

And a little late on the Statik advice, already bought it. But I really really want to play it so it doesn't matter. And it was only €20.

Wipeout is kind of enticing just going off the amount of hype it received, but I doubt I'd play it more than a couple of times and even then it would just be for the VR thrill.
Same with Gran Turismo. I don't really play racing games, but for some reason I really want to try it in VR.

The X-Wing mission really is a great way to show off the PSVR to people. I can understand that Farpoint looks a little basic, but the AIM controller tracks much better than the Move controllers and as a piece of tech I thought it was worth it. Holding something and seeing the basic shape replicated in VR in a weapon really does add an X factor to that game for me.

The only other exclusive I can think off, off the top of my head, would be Resident Evil 7. Again it might not be your thing, but its very good. There are two free demos for it, the Kitchen demo is just a passive experience (another good way to show the system to someone) and the full demo is VR compatible which should give you an idea if the game is for you. I'd advise at least to check it out, because its by far and away the best full game I've played on any VR system to date.

Picked this up the other day, with VR Worlds (or whatever it's called). Haven't got around to setting it up yet, hoping to do so tonight after the football. Pleased to see lots of free demos and content though, been downloading loads of stuff over the last couple of days. Wipeout's the only full game I've got that supports VR, but definitely looking to pick up some others. Looking forward to giving it a go. :toot:

Or set up earlier and watch Sweden vs Switzerland on it.
