Which games caused motion sickness?

I struggled with Resident Evil 7 before I turned off head-bobbing the settings, managed to complete it in VR after that. I think it was turned off by default in an update, why the hell it was enabled in VR mode I'll never know!

Have no problems at all in driving/flight games, really looking forward to playing Ace Combat 7 with the thing.

I have VR worlds and even the underwater one makes me feel sick, the London heist I was ok with until the car part, it’s strange because in real life I’m never travel, sea or air sick, I tried ginger but it didn’t work

Rigs and Farpoint are the worst for me with motion sickness. Though with Farpoint it was vastly reduced by switching to the non-smooth turning options, though I still can't play for more than an hour before I have to take at least a 4 hour break.

Skyrim made me a little queasy but tinkering with the options helped. The only game that's made me actually have to stop playing was Scavengers Odyssey on VR Worlds. The constant jumping and switching of your ground just set me off, think I managed about 10 minutes.

Skyrim was bad for me until I switched to teleport.

Would love to play Ultrawings but I know that would do me in.

I use smooth movement in Farpoint. I tried the teleport movement but found it just takes you out of things too much.
Haven't tried Skyrim VR but I'd imagine it to be somewhat the same for me.

There are a few exceptions (that don't make me queasy) but generally I find most VR games do make me come over a little queer, but it tends to plateau out and become fairly tolerable. The Tomb Raider VR thing was actually the worst for me.

Everyone is different when it comes to VR sickness.

A lot of the time you can build up tolerance to it, as long as you stop when you feel queasy and don't try to push through it. Eventually you should get you "VR legs".

But then some people just won't get on with it at all. Which is a shame. Hopefully as the tech gets better it will be less of an issue.

So turns out Bravo Team is utter trash.

Shame, I'd been thinking about maybe picking it up when I realised it was out this week. Luckily I was waiting for reviews as I had a bad feeling about it, which it appears was justified.

On the flipside I spent about two hours with Moss on Saturday and it's utterly delightful.

Fun mix of platforming and puzzle solving, with some interesting combat mechanics (Though it's not the focus).
It looks nicer than the demo, and the animation and overall presentation is fantastically charming.
It's wonderful and if you enjoyed the (very short) demo I would definitely recommend picking it up.

I've not had a chance to go back to it, but I'm hoping to do some more of it tonight.

EDIT: Oh and the animation on Quill is fantastic. They've really managed to imbue her with character despite the fact she has no dialogue at all. It's great.

I'm crushed that Bravo Team has turned out to be terrible as I was really looking forward to a decent multiplayer tactical shooter.
VR should be a great fit for such a game but this is not it.

Clue was in the name, Pete. If it was any good it'd have been called Alpha or Gold Team.

I had been really looking forward to Bravo Team as well. Disappointing to hear it's come out so badly. The AI and glitches can be patched but it sounds like the game is just fundamentally dull.

What we need is a slower and more tactical version of Rainbow Six Siege in VR.
This should not be hugely graphically intensive as the maps are relatively small and as it's tactical movement doesn't need to be super quick so helping with the nausea issue.

The PSVR Starter Pack is being reduced in price to £260 / €300 from tomorrow.

Quite a nice drop albeit I guess you still have to factor Move controllers and a couple of games into that price. Is this new price point gonna tempt you to jump aboard?

Not a chance. Once a decent VR headset hits the £100 I might take the plunge but even then it'd be a tough choice.

Yeah, I have to say that it doesn't really tempt me, either. VR has tons of potential but - and I say this having never even put on a PSVR headset - it feels like the technology is very much in early development. Hopefully the kit and the games will be way better in a few years time.

Recently went to Tenerife and all the shopping areas had pop up stalls charging €5 for about 3 minutes on PSVR, most of them just had GT Sport where you got a single race.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Right now VR is in it's infancy and it's incredibly exciting.

The price is beginning to drop (Slowly, but it's coming down) and for those with the disposable income and inclination you can take part in the birth of the biggest evolution in games since 3D went mainstream.

It's forcing developers to rethink decades of accepted norms in controls, GUI's, cameras and player movement. They're having to experiment to find what works and what doesn't. It's allowing whole new types of game to be created and it's breathing new life into many existing games. Superhot, Skyrim, Polybius, Thumper and Rez are all games where I now consider the VR version to be the definitive one. It elevates them to a whole new level that's just not possible with a flat 2D screen.

Moss, which is an otherwise fairly standard platform puzzler, absolutely comes to life once you are in that world. It's animation and art direction are exquisite and they created an amazingly charming and delightful character in Quill, that just doesn't come across on TV.

It takes technology and concepts that were previously tarnished (I'm specifically referencing motion controls) and it makes them an essential component. They finally make sense and have a place where not only do they add to the experience, the actually help to ground you in the worlds you find yourself in.

VR may not be THE future, but it's going to be a big part of it and I've genuinely not been this excited about a development in games in a long, long time. I've not even had a chance to use the higher-end Oculus and Vive headsets, which by all accounts are even better.

It's not going to be for everyone, and it's certainly not for everyone right now. But once it hit's that sweet spot where the tech is better and it's in a more mass-market price spot (Which PSVR isn't too far off) then it's going to change everything.

EDIT: Sounds like Wipeout could be added to the list of "definitive" versions. I'll be checking that out over the long weekend.

VR is exciting, but it has arrived at the wrong time for me. I don’t have much time at the moment to be able to play games and can’t justify £300+ on something that I would rarely get to use.

I see this as a good thing though. When I do have more free time available, hopefully we will be in the second or third gen of these VR headsets and they will be strawberry floating awesome by then. :datass:
