Played bits of PSWorlds (Ocean Descent, The Heist), Playroom VR and GT Sport.
Very impressive.
Couple of questions though.... how best to focus? I find the Centre is clear but slightly blurry not that far from the centre. Also, where are these comfort settings I keep reading about please?

Ocean Descent is my go-to "Here, this is VR" demonstration piece. It's wonderful for that.

Adjust the headset as much as you can to find the sweet spot. Once you do, make sure the lenses are clean (The smudge VERY easily) and adjust the strap.

Comfort settings are implemented by the games. Not all of them will have them, but check the options for each game to see what's there.

Oh and get every bit of free VR content from the PS Store. There's loads of stuff in there that's worth looking at (Especially the Demo Collections).

I keep seeing this PSVR GT Sport kit/bundle going suspiciously cheap - I'm guessing it's on old/inferior model? What benefits does the revised headset offer?

HDR Passthrough is the main difference. On the base model if you have a PS4 Pro, you need to disconnect the HDMI input from the Processing box, then plug it directly into the TV to get HDR. The new one supports HDR going through the Processing box so you don't need to unplug it.

If you don't have a PS4 Pro, then there is very little difference (I think the cables are a bit thinner and headphones are built in or something).

Also, if that doesn't work then try this

Measure your eye-to-eye distance
That’s a fancy word, isn’t it? If you’re sure that your PSVR headset is clean and fitted properly and you’re still getting blurriness, then it may be time to tune the interpupillary distance. While the majority of you shouldn’t need this step, it may help you few remaining stragglers who are battling poor image quality.

Simply go to Settings from the PS4’s main menu (it’s the toolbox icon on the top row), and then go to Devices > PlayStation VR > Measure Eye-to-Eye Distance and follow the steps. You’ll need to take a photo of your face and basically align boxes over the position of your eyes. Keep trying until you’re certain of the right setting, and hopefully it’ll clean up any remaining blur.

Cheers for that Rex & Devlin. I'll try that next time I'm on it.

Tried out Driveclub VR demo. Loved it. That's very likely to be purchased I'd imagine.

Tried to find Wipeout's VR mode but no joy. Changed to cockpit view but it wasn't VR. Didn't see a standalone VR mode under Extras or Options etc. Where is it please?

Just have your VR on when you start the game and that should be it. It's not a separate mode.

Have you updated to the latest version?

It was!

I need to check that
Edit: this appears to have been the reason. A ~6Gb update was applied after my initial play yesterday. VR worked next time I fired it up

You'll need to adjust the google part forward and back until you get that sweet spot.

Comfort settings?

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I left turning off altogether and just actually physically turned in order to turn. Its a shame you get the cone of no tracking showing up behind you, but I was able to work around that and to be honest its still one of the best VR experiences I've had.

A few interesting bits in today's sale for those who have just picked up a PSVR. Batman is cheap if you've got PS+, as is Psychonauts. Decent reduction on the Inpatient too. And you can always pick up Elite like me in the vain hope it'll ever get a VR update.

I switched from that to free moving in Doom VFR and it was much better.

Teleporting does suck. But in games with free-movement it can be helpful for some people.

Personally I'm fine with moving around as long as the turning is step based, rather than a smooth rotation. It just makes my head dizzy and just doesn't feel right to me.

I was desperate to play Skyrim VR as it was what I thought was the promise of the VR dream... I started and played with smooth movement and it was literally nauseating! Horrendous. I played with teleporting and whilst functional it doesn't feel quite as open or as free - it's gimped. But I really wanted to play properly so I bought travel sickness tablets, you take two, two hours before play and wore some anti-sickness wristbands. And it worked! I was able to play with smooth movement. I've since played it again with the tablets and it's fine.

People shouldn't forget the Easter sale games are still available till 12:59AM too.

I'd recommend Statik to anyone with a PSVR.

Tempted by the Batman VR as really enjoyed the Arkham games. Is it along those lines (but presumably much shorter) or is it different, and if so how?

Basically, is it any good?

Yes it's good. No, it's nothing like the Arkham games. More of a 1st person, adventure type game. Think Myst with added Batman.

Batman VR is bitter short. Very short.

And it's more of Batman using his detecting skills/gadgets to solve what happened.

But it's also brilliant fun. I mean, you are the strawberry floating Batman. I can't recommend anything better for a huge batman fan like me.

Doom VFR is a decent game as well. But so far the best game I've ever played on the VR is The Playroom VR and it's free. Much better quality of games than the original Playroom (the ghostbusters-themed one is a firm favourite in my household, along with the chain-gun attack on aliens.) I also like Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (and The Inpatient is so-so.) and I'll recommend them if you're a huge fan of Until Dawn.

Also I would urge you to get the Aim controller with Farpoint (Bravo Team is alright.)

And there's Resident Evil VII. Much more scary in VR. :dread: :slol:

Resi 7 is never going to happen. I can’t do FPS horror (Outlast :dread:) but I did try the free Kitchen demo. strawberry float. Me.

That’s enough for me thanks
