Looks sexy, and amazing name. I don't know why they can't make it work for the PC as well though.

Also they said it is just a prototype. They have had VR prototypes before...

It looks beautiful! :D

We believe Morpheus will further enhance PlayStation'. It'll work alongside the camera, and Move. We like to invite passionate developers to work with us. We've seen Oculus share prototypes and share technology, and I have an enormous amount of respect for them.'

No real reason I suppose.

To be honest once it's out someone will have found a way to use it on PC within a month.

The real question is what makes it different from the Rift and what's the price?

I would guess a launch price of around £300. But all it needs is one killer app, one immersive RPG like a Skyrim or Fallout and I would pay that money just to play it.

It definitely needs something like that.

This is where I think the Rift has more than a small advantage. The sheer number of hobbyists already doing crazy stuff, for free, on PC is going to be a massive help to the Rift. I'm not sure a closed system like PS can really match that, at least initially.

Now if they make it PC compatible it's a whole different ball game.

No, but it is still generating hype for VR. All Sony has to do is release it first.

Hopefully this will give Oculus a kick up the balls regardless.

It really shows that there have been three+ years of development, they have gone really deep into the issues of VR and philosophy behind their product.

Yeah. It's all good.

Competition will lead, hopefully, to two fantastic VR systems that run a huge variety of amazing experiences.

It really does seem like that doesn't it? Couch multiplayer in case someone wants to watch you play. Glasses are no problem either they reckon.

This all sounds good in theory, but it sort of seems they are a long way off.

As both Sony and Oculus Rift have products in this space it makes it much more likely that VR games will become a standard and not just a technological diversion like 3D.

EDIT: What am i saying my friends? This is the gaming future that movies have promised us, everything from Lawnmower man to Disclosure. I can see it, I want it, I can almost touch it...!

Totally. It might not quite be there yet, even if Rift and Morpheus are great, but it's all steps on the road. Love it

Oh and looks like EVE Valkyrie is coming to Morpheus.
