A bit easier, I would say - certainly with regard to aiming/shooting.

Does shitting yourself on a regular basis dampen the experience at all?

Its different.

Its definitely easier to aim as its just a matter of looking where you want to aim, which might sound broken, but its not.

The real difference though is the sense of presence, scale and depth to the environment that just isn't there on a 2D screen, of course that might lead to it being more scary at points, but its a good scary.

Its difficult to go back to playing on a 2D screen after you've been playing in VR for a while.

I tried PSVR for the first time today! I was buying a Switch for some unfathomable reason and they had a PSVR demo-unit in the store.

I tried the underwater tech demo thing. The picture was a bit fuzzy, but nevertheless the experience was quite impressive. The sense of immersion was good; whenever I looked down I was surprised that I couldn't see my legs.

I'm going to go back and try it with my reading glasses on. O_O

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I'm a person who gets easily scared when watching horror films. A friend played The Kitchen demo and I watched on the TV and even that got me scared! Have any of the Resident Evil VR experiences negatively lingered in your thoughts?

Not really.

I'm not a fan of scary movies and I don't kind to like scary things, but this was great.

There's one point I can remember when something is being shoved in your face that wasn't nice, but the rest of it is mostly just jump scares, or general low level scariness. When you get in to it, its still mostly basically an action game.

I played around with Tethered using the motion controls last night and it definitely adds to what is already a very good game. Not sure if the demo also includes the motion controls but if it does then I'd highly recommend having a go. It's like a cross between Pikmin and The Settlers. There's no specific reason why it would need to be in VR but the sense of immersion when you're looking over the island with all your peeps wandering about is really something. The motion controls have added the ability to move the map around meaning you're not tied to the cloud viewpoints as before and it looks really nice. There's also some kind of Pro improvements as well for anyone with that. It's about £19 on the store and there seems to be quite a lot of content for that amount of cash.

EDIT: And if you want another reason to buy it, the devs (Secret Sorcery) are ex Evolution Studios. That's a nailed on mark of quality in my book.

PlayStation Move is still great, up there with Vive controllers (not used Oculus Touch yet).

Farpoint has a release date now, 17th of May in Europe...

Been waiting for this ever since I first tried PSVR before launch. Demo with the Aim controller was amazing, hopefully the game lives up to it.

Are those buttons circling the right stick? How did it feel to aim and move at the same time? I really want to get this and I hope it's a good game.

I can't remember them, but it does look like it.

Was fine moving and aiming. I played standing up in plenty of space, having the physical controller in my hands seemed to ground me and I didn't get any dizziness that I have experienced in other VR titles.

I've been using this again at the weekend and the 3d works well and the cinema mode has been nicely upgraded.
I'm also replaying Tumble again as I didn't transfer my save over when I moved over to the pro and it's great fun as my shitty memory hasn't retained anything from my first time round.

Yey, having the memory capacity of a 95 year old pays off big time  .

I was hoping to have it today but Amazon failed to get enough stock and I have to wait until Friday.
This will hopefully be the first game I play multiplayer VR so I'm looking forward to it.

I cancelled the night before for two reasons: firstly not enough time, and secondly £80 is a lot for one game and I thought that money would go better directed towards a Switch.

I really do want to play it though so would like to hear what you or anybody else thinks of it. Might get it in the future with some CEX credit.

I've just ordered mine from Very with a discount code, took it down to £60ish. I thought I was out of the early adopter trap, thinking back to games like Resistance at launch on PS3, Killzone Shadow Fall on PS4 and I get that similar kind of impression from this (not bad games, but short, fairly generic and probably a fiver in CEX in 6 months), yet I can't help giving it a try and hoping that there'll be continued support for the aim peripheral further down the line. Should be here Friday, looking forward to others impressions in the mean time!

Me too, what was really annoying about that was that they only told people this morning that they weren't getting it today. As late as 10PM last night my order still said it was coming today.

Seems like they've given everyone £5 credit for it being late, but its still pretty annoying. Having said that I did order with a £20 off £150 code (with a bunch of other games I wanted) so I've basically got the game and the controller for £60 now.

The reviews are interesting so far, its obviously a very difficult game for mainstream gaming publications to review. Boiled down the game is a 5 hour linear shooting gallery with basically no progression, set in what amounts to long straight corridors. It would normally get terrible review scores for that...but its also a game transformed by the Aim controller by all accounts. Even having read the more harsh reviews and having seen some of the game, I think its still going to be one of my gaming highlights of the year. I'm really glad that I managed to play it last year at one of the PSVR experience events.

Does the aim controller work with Resi 7?
