I think "retro" is a bit of an intangible for me, it's more down to nostalgia, but a very paticular type of nostalgia. Very difficult to classify! I know there are dictionary defintions that Robot Boy™ will chime in with, but I'm all about them feels man
Would I class the PS3/360 as retro? I don't think I would, even though they don't make them anymore. Too recent and shiny.
The PS2/Xbox/Dreamcast/Gamecube generation? Nope, again still too recent for me, although a case could be made I suppose.
PS1? I get deeply satisfying waves of nostalgia whenever I hear the startup noises of the PS1, this for me is properly "in the feels" so I'd most likely class that as retro. The fact that its styling is also of a previous era certainly helps.
