You still think you've got a house, jiggles? ;) .

My Xbox has caught fire and burned it down.

Actually, it's not as bad as this, but it's pretty bad.

I turned on my PC just now and the hard drive is working fine. But the replacement has already shipped. I just dropped over £300 on hard drives I didn't need.

I take it... you can send the drives back, jiggles?

Well, I can, but they're better than what I have in there at the minute, so I'm unlikely to.

The new South Park game has been using the "Nosulus Rift" device, to market the game.

Due to "not enough connections to my TV" issues, I had retired my Xbox 360 to the cupboard.

Next day I realised the error of my ways, re-jigged my set-up and connected the console up again. I'd forgotten just how many great games there are on the 360; and I still have Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Dragon Age and more to play through. As the machine is no longer being made, I guess the 360 could be classed as "retro" now?

I'm glad it's back. The king is dead... long live the king!

No. It's last-gen, it can be retro after that.

Retro for me is up to N64, cause it's easier to emulate for Retro Mondays.

It's pretty easy to emulate GameCube, Wii and even PS2 games.

Does that mean you've never played Arkham Asylum?

Knowing Jawa he's played it a gooseberry fool load, but never got out of the first area.

Next year's GOTY has already been decided for me.

V7 Entertainment has revealed its sport title Old Time Hockey which is an arcade style hockey game expected in early 2017 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The game is set in the 1970’s where hockey players didn’t wear much padding or helmets during games, and violence was par for the course. There’s a story mode where players will have to help a struggling team compete in the Bush Hockey League during a time of disco and economic depression. Old Time Hockey will include multiplayer though this appears to be limited to local play.

An interesting question, Jawa!

I think "retro" is a bit of an intangible for me, it's more down to nostalgia, but a very paticular type of nostalgia. Very difficult to classify! I know there are dictionary defintions that Robot Boy™ will chime in with, but I'm all about them feels man 8-)

Would I class the PS3/360 as retro? I don't think I would, even though they don't make them anymore. Too recent and shiny.

The PS2/Xbox/Dreamcast/Gamecube generation? Nope, again still too recent for me, although a case could be made I suppose.

PS1? I get deeply satisfying waves of nostalgia whenever I hear the startup noises of the PS1, this for me is properly "in the feels" so I'd most likely class that as retro. The fact that its styling is also of a previous era certainly helps.

Pre-PS1 era is bonafide retro nostalgiaville, hook it up to my viens :datass:

People say the term retro is wrong any way. Retro is a term used to describe something that's attempting to be like something from the past, so Castlevania is vintage and Shovel Knight is Retro. But strawberry float that noise, Retro means old gooseberry fool to me.

I buy all my games and then dump them for use in an emulator. An breach of law is due to its archaic nature and a desperate need for reformation.

Looking at the masses of games that have had their prices lowered in the run-up to Christmas - including big titles such as Watch Dogs 2, Call of Duty, FF XV and The Last Guardian which were only released just a couple of weeks back - I think I've finally learnt the lessons that game publishers are teaching people:

> Never pre-order a game
> Never buy a game at release
> Never buy DLC in advance

The publishers are literally* teaching us gamers that "you're a mug for buying our game at launch!".

* Literally.

Is it the publishers or the retailers that are setting these sale prices?
