I quite enjoyed sections of Super Paper Mario. Some of the writing was great and it was relatively amusing.

Unfortunately it takes some of the worst aspects of RPGs and platformers rather than being the best of both worlds.

I hated the character designs and trekking around the over-world between stages was just painful.

Someone list me some great PC games from the last 5 or 6 years that I should be looking to buy.

So far I've got Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, Unreal Tournament 3, Civ IV complete and a few others but I'm looking for suggestions.

In the current issue of Xbox World is a supplement called Tesco Presents...Hot Summer Games, which has been produced in collaboration with Future Publishing, & they've totally spun OPM's Haze review. In the verdict section it says...

"Full of action throughout, Haze is made more interesting with the addition of hallucination-based gameplay. It's an experience unlike any other"

They've taken the negative review, & through 'clever' editing, changed the context into a positive. Shameful.

Half Life 2
Doom 3
Chronicles of Riddick

I have all these on other formats but I am tempted to get Half Life 2 so that I can try out the various mods on Steam.

Doom 3 is a good shout but I'll hold off on Chronicles of Riddick until this new version with 33% more gameplay!!111 comes out.

Oh and I downloaded Trackmania Nations (awesome) and Far Cry for free as well. Good times :)

Half Life 2 on PC is a must. You won't regret it. Heck, just get the whole OB.

Stalker and the Oblivion Lost mod as well. You can thank me via PM and money later.

I was going to play some Prof. Layton last night and my mum fought she would be helpful and load my file up for me. Oh no, wait, no, she just overwrote my save.

I tried out the demos for the 09 editions of FIFA, NHL and NBA Live. They were all good but I was rubbish at all three of them.

I just can't get used to using the right thumbstick for NHL. Others here seem to like the changes from the past few years, but I have to say I prefer using the face buttons like in the NHL games from last generation. I may have to give the NHL 2K9 demo a go then.

NBA Live was good as well, and I'm glad the free shots have been changed. I remember from the 06 demo it was really hard to actually get any points. It did take me a while to get it, though, despite reading the help section.

One of the main reasons I bought my PS3 was to play MGS4, but I didn't actually get around to buying it until last week and I've not been able to put it down since! Its brilliant :D

I didn't get on with MGS3 but this is fantastic - its literally everything I want from a Metal Gear game and everytime I think it can't get any better it does. Case in point, the start of Act 4...

I've been watching Smash Bros Melee "black holes" on youtube. Yeah, old news and all that but they're still impressive.

Heres a more intense one.

My Play-Asia order was dispatched on Monday, using the cheapest postage method available, which states it should take 4-5 days to arrive. So will I find it waiting for me in the mailbox when I get home today?

You let your mother near your videogames? It's definitely not the '90es anymore.
