The fourth disc was very strange. Bizarre last dungeon, from what I remember. I love the AP system in that game, I thought it was similar to FFVI's esper stuff. It was good having a protagonist who was a pretty optimistic guy (well, except for a few scenes).

Bah! Caved in to getting Dead Space 2, remembered I've got a load of HMV vouchers from Christmas, decide to buy it this evening. Not for use online. Crap! And the one on my high street just shut down.

Trollface is happy this evening.

Bloody hell, I remember it so well. When I played that for the first time, it was a landmark moment in gaming for sure.

As of right now, I have 14 unbeaten games on Wii front... I really need to start working on them. Same with PS3, around 10 or so :fp: And there's matter of catching up with RPGs on PS1/PS2/NDS/GCN/Wii... ouch.

Oh well it just means there's great variety for me to play through

Did GGC ever have a sort of questions you always wanted to ask about games thread?

Okay then, I may as well ask my question in here then.

Playing Torchlight got me thinking on talent trees. The first one I ever encountered was in World of Warcraft, then at a later date I played Diablo and that had talent trees too (as well as sockets) and that pre-dates WoW. So... does anyone know which was the first game ever to use them?

Anyone know who/what Ed Fear is/does? He's just be confirmed as the guest speaker at my end of year uni show. Never heard of the bloke, and a googling reveals he does something for Sony.

Anyone know what trade in values are like for DVD Boxsets? Lost Season 3 for example. I'll do anything to get Portal 2 tomorrow.

To answer my own question: strawberry floating gooseberry fool. €3.50 per boxset. :fp:

So, you know how I rant on and on about how you shouldn't have to pay for Xbox Live Gold? Well, I'm a bad man, and I'm easily swayed by 60% off. Especially after a couple of beers.

The team then began work on a traditional action game platformer, then tentatively called Rayman 4. However, upon receiving development kits from Nintendo, the team began focusing on implementing a wide range of gameplay types. When it became clear that these were not going to fit into a traditional platformer game, Rayman Raving Rabbids was altered to become a game consisting of separated trials.

:x

That's even worse than Rare canning Kameo 2 in favour of all those Kinect games. I want another proper Rayman game.

This thread seems a bit dead but I couldn't find anywhere better to discuss this (other than the iPhone/ Android threads); do any of you use apps or an app to record your gaming history and catalogue?

I understand GameRankings and other sites are good for this but apps are more convenient on phones.

GameRankings and Metacritic don't have their own apps but I've found one (on iPhone) called Video Games Manager. Seems quite good.

Has anyone used it? Are there better options around?

Just popped into Game. Their post Christmas sale is rather poor this year. Hardly any genuine bargains to be had. I would have thought a tonne of old last gen back cat would be much cheaper given how much they have.

Loving Next Gen graphics, especially my lad's PC, which he's spent a fortune on this Christmas. But every game is so windy.

Do I need to have played the previous games in the series to know what's going on in the new 3DS Phoenix Wright?

They don't have a post christmas sale, in fact those prices have been up for over a week so you already missed everything worth having.

You'll miss out on a lot if you don't. There's no real reason not to play the original before Dual Destinies (the 5th in the series) as you can pick up 1-3 quite cheaply on iOS. The DS versions are the best but they're harder to find. Some people dislike the 4th (Apollo Justice) but I enjoyed it so I'd still recommend it.

Ace Attorney: Investigations is a spin off and not directly related to the main story but it's my favourite so I'd recommend playing it after 3 and before 4.
