Highly recommended, Cora - the SNES version really is excellent, with detailed, colourful graphics and a superb soundtrack. I was always more of a Mega Drive fan than SNES but, for this game, the SNES definitely won out :) .

So I've got my SNES. It's in very good condition, no yellowing or scrapes and the controller looks more or less new. The games are in good nick too, only one of them has slight yellowing on the back.

Only trouble is I've plugged it into the wall to see that it receives power and nothing happens. The power light doesn't come on, I assume it should even if it's not connected to the tv?

Hope it's not a dud :(

Yep, should definitely come on if it's plugged in. Chance that the fuse has gone, hope it's not a dud.

Panic over, it does work :toot:

Crappy plug must need a new fuse, it's working fine in other sockets :D

I was proper bummed out for 5 minutes then

It's such a beautiful console. Makes me wish I didn't collect NTSC games

The console looks to be in really nice condition, Preezy - congrats, dude. It's always a good feeling to get a new (old) gaming machine :) .

I have a SNES in the loft but I think it has yellowed really badly :( .

That does look to be in great nick, Drummy. I've never owned a 'Cube but I do like the mini discs!

£20. The trend with the Gamecube MP games is the later the iteration the more expensive they are.

There's an auction I'm watching on a SNES and 19 games - £175 with two hours to go. What's my max bid guys?

Edit: games are DKC 1-3, SMW, SMW2, SMK, Mario All-Stars w/SMW, Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Lion King, Mario Paint, Mickey Mania, Mickey's Magical Quest Buster Busts Loose, Tiny Toons Sports Mania, Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt, Cool Spot, Soccer Kid

What are the games and what is the condition? Probably easier to just post a link to the auction.

If it's the auction I just found...I'd say 250 max. There are some quality games - instant collection. But nothing *rare* or super valuable

Edited in Drum - I already own a few so could make a bit of my money back re-selling them but from a retro player's standpoint there's a lot of quality there.

Yeah, the price of an auction a few hours before the end is meaningless.

Most people nowadays put in last second bids.

SNES games are going for silly money - even unboxed ones. It's put me off SNES collecting for the time being.

There are only 3 "must have" SNES games missing from my collection - Castlevania IV, Secret of Mana and Super Metroid. All will probably be around £200+ in the condition I want them. :fp:

But I'm willing to hold out. For me, collecting is about quality not quantity :toot:
