Are you playing the PAL version? I remember finding it impossible. Then I grabbed a Japanese copy (as you do) and the improved responsiveness made it much more manageable. And I'm not usually a '60hz or nothing' sort of player...

Pal GC games ran at 60hz though...

Wave Race: Blue Storm and Luigi's Mansion were optimised 50hz.
*edit* and Ikaruga. Yuk.

I am. I can win 2 of the races every time, place in the top 3 on another and get polarising results on 2. Then there's the Riviera like course which I'm not learning because I hate it. I've worked out I can win expert mode if I get good results on the 5 courses I'm good/alright at, but it's hard. No doubt I'll put in another 2 hours tonight, hopefully I'll crack it.

I traded in my PAL copy, and mean to get one again at some point, but I always hit a brick wall on expert. The controls just get really treacly when the margins are so fine, so good luck!

I enjoyed Double Dash, so I disagree.

Play it now, after playing 8.

If memory serves, to hold items behind you (and switch between items when you have 2), press Y. Or X. Or Z

X and You both just firing them and Z switches character.

Yeah. The characters hold the items, thus when you switch characters, you switch items. No?

I downloaded some more SNES games on my New 2DS tonight.

Super Probotector / Contra 3 must have one of the greatest opening levels of any game, ever. It's got everything.

Also got Super Ghouls N Ghosts - and managed to complete the first level first go (I was highly skilled at that game back in the day, and have lost none of that skill).

I'm actually pretty good and skilful at these games, unlike all this 3D stuff today which my poor brain and coordination can't cope with!!

Yeah, you switch items, but it doesn't seem like you can drag them behind you. Unless I'm missing something. Will check the instructions.

I'm sure that you can.

I really enjoyed Double Dash - some great courses but as a successor to the best game in the Mario Kart series it was always going to suffer.

You can't trail items behind you in double dash like you can in other Mario karts which is shite.

I just bought my SNES game Number 35...and it's probably one of my favourite games of all time - Super Castlevania IV.

The atmosphere, the music, the playability, the cool use of Mode 7, the difficulty. It's simply amazing :-)

Surely not... this one? .

No, thank god! Although I was watching that one. :fp:

I got which ended on the same day, and is in just as good condition:

this one

And that's it. No more. I've gone way over budget for my retro games, and it's absurd how much I've spent on some. I really could have got a Switch and a few games.
