He is - I can't justify £35 for it right now but I'm keeping an eye on his eBay auction, which was at £22 last I checked.

It is simply too big, and it has too many collectables. I think they should reigned it in a bit. It's too easy to get lost.

Also worth pointing out that Ikaruga runs at 50hz, which makes it the worst available version released in PAL terrotories. I’ve gone back and forth on it over the years, having bought and returned/sold it a couple of times.
Good for the collection, I suppose, and I have seller’s remorse over getting rid of it, but if you actually want to play it I’d stick with the Dreamcast, XBox or Switch versions. Or I guess Steam or PS4 assuming it’s out on those?

One of the best arguments for re-releases right there; in PAL territories it gives us accessible 60Hz versions of old games. Unless it's Wii Virtual Console or some PS1-2 classics D:

I have Twin Snakes and Ikaruga which I intend selling, both are in great condition apart from Ikarga having a miniscule scratch on the non-data part of the disc.

Was going to put each on ebay as slightly cheeky £50 'buy it now' listings but would defnitely consider accepting less from someone on here to avoid paying the ebay fees.

No pressure though, it'll probably be a week or so before I put anything on ebay and I'll stick everything in the trading post beforehand

I also had both, plus Twilight Princess, until about a year ago when I sold them on eBay. Think I got about £40 for each, so you shouldn't really be paying more than that. You might get lucky if a couple come up at the same time.

I never thought I'd part with any of them, but after they've spent over a decade moving from one cupboard to another, it's time to let go.

One game I always wanted to get after playing the demo loooong ago was Tombi for the PS1. They go for about £80 on eBay now; one day I'll just give in and buy it.

I'd happily take both off your hands, but it really depends what price you'd be willing to take for both of them - I don't think I'd go above £40 for MGS and £30 for Ikaruga, plus P+P.

Someone stole my copy of Twin Snakes but I was lucky enough to get Cal's copy in excellent condition from HM in exchange for Luigi's Mansion and Rogue Leader which was definitely a good trade (although I want that game again now). I've just won Rogue Leader from Joer's eBay clearout.

I bought Twilight Princess for GC on release day in Virgin, still have it. I ocassinally play it because it feels "right" on GC although obviously the HD remaster is much better. I never really played the Wii version. I had it for a couple of weeks because I anticipated buying a Wii but never did so I traded it back in for £28.

Is TP any good?

I'm not particularly good at Zelda games; I've managed to complete BOTW (and OoT back in the day) but I've always felt I've sucked at them. Never been able to put my finger on why.

I've also got Wind Waker sitting mostly unplayed.

It has some excellent dungeons, the overworld is a bit empty, but its general feel and direction are good as any of the other games. It's a very long game, possibly too big, but as a "realistic Zelda" everyone wanted as quasi-billed with the early Space World 2000 demo for GC it's great.

They may have modelled it too much after OOT but 10x bigger and with less character. It lacks density. The overworld aspects they were trying to achieve are way better in BotW (and to some extent Skyward Sword, although I don't really like how that is broken up into bits), Wind Waker had a similar problem except it was just endless ocean instead of horse riding so.. It's something with conflicting opinions.

I've enjoyed it more than enough to play it twice all the way though though (GC and Wii I HD) so I'd certainly recommend it. There's unlikely to be another Zelda with as dark a tone and realism anyway. You're best charging from place to place on horseback and doing all the dungeons, if you pursue the sidequests you might get lost/bored so go for the set pieces some of which are great.

Wind Waker has by far the best character / mimetic realism of all the games but there are a few odd obviously cut bits and sailing can be pretty dull, good to chill out between destinations.. the HD version has a faster sail and more streamlined in general, I'd probably recommend that instead. The GC controller just feels lovely in that game though (the C-stick is implemented well and the analogue control is just perfect with the fluid 60fps animation, it's a very tactile sort of game). And I don't really like the lighting in the HD remake, which I haven't played yet. The Wind Waker dungeons are consistently really good though, and there's a wistfulness to the whole thing that makes it feel special.

If GG's paragraphs are anything to go by then I think it's one of those games that will seem retrospectively worse after a sequel is released, a.k.a. Breath of the Wild. I haven't played either so I'll enjoy going through this, I think.

I prefer TP to Wind Waker, but they are both kinda disappointing compared to OoT and MM.

They both feel like they needed more work put into them, Wind Waker is essentially a rushed product, Twilight Princess had a gooseberry fool lot of time in development but parts of it are sparse as strawberry float. I assume it must be due to the troubled development it had.

Despite my negativity, they are good games, and I'd recommend playing them.

I think wind waker would be fine if they had just put in those dungeons. The weird miniature mountain islands where you just get major items and that "well known big ass fish" handing something over as well.. It's such a shame. It would have been perfect, but technically everything else is great. Not a fan of boss rushes either toward the very end (final boss is great if a bit weird and last moments super dramatic but too easy not unlike BotW). There are so many good bits it's 100% worth playing all the way through.

Thankfully twilight princess doesn't have any missing gooseberry fool, it's just too big for the density they could do or technically achieve on GC.

I really really like both windwaker and twilight I'm in the minority but I played and enjoyed thm more than the N64 Zelda games.

Just picked up 3 N64 games for the total price of £4.50 cart only , they are Nagano winter Olympics 98, Forsaken and Fighters Destiny. I also grabbed a complete copy of TopGun combat zones for the GameCube for £2.

I adored Wind Waker and would 100% recommend you play it Drummy. If you feel like you're not very good at Zelda games you may enjoy this as it's quite easy but also allows you to approach combat in different ways e.g. go in all guns blazing or use items to pick enemies off from afar or toy with them and steal their weaponry and use it against them. Visually and musically it's a non stop treat and yes there's lots of sailing to and fro but since every open world game since upped the ante massively it'll probably not feel too vast anymore (it never felt too large or sparse to me even first time). Plus the collector in you will enjoy the little islands in between with lots of secret bits to come back and find later. Yes there's one part where a dungeon has clearly been ripped out for lack of time but as you're not actually playing it back in the game starved drought actual days of the console's lifetime I'd wager you might not be too fussed at having one fewer dungeon to complete to finish the game, especially when (like Gecko says) the dungeons that did make the cut are wonderful.

Impressive work on the N64 carts - they're all fairly cheap to pick up loose but you'd be averaging about £15 for the lot I reckon. I got Nagano boxed for £8 at the tail end of last year. What condition are the carts in?

They are very very dirty but I think a lot of it will clean off... Strangly I enjoy cleaning stuff up so hopefully theyll look good when finished
