All-time Top Ten favourite games? I'm not sure if they have to be 'retro' or not? (I know the thread is retro :shifty: )...

01) Fallout 3 (Xbox 360)
02) Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (PS3)
03) Portal 2 (Xbox 360)
04) Wii Sports Resort (Wii)
05) Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
06) Championship Manager 92/93 (Amiga)
07) Mercenary (C64)
08) Kikstart (C64)
09) Burnout 2 (Xbox)
10) Grand Theft Auto Vice City (Xbox)

So tough to choose. Others that I'm gutted not to include: VVVVVV (3DS); Portal (Xbox 360); Pharoah's Curse (Vic-20); Streets of Rage II (Mega Drive); Montezuma's Revenge (C64); Boulder Dash (C64); Doom (PS1); Kick Off (Amiga); Stockmarket (Amstrad CPC); Mario Kart 8 (Wii U); ISS 64 (N64); Road Rash 64 (N64); Robotron 64 (N64); Banjo-Kazooie (N64); Perils of Willy (Vic-20); Need for Speed (PS1); PES 2 (PS1); Golden Axe (Mega Drive); GTA III (Xbox); Bioshock Infinite (Xbox 360).

In no order.

Tie Fighter
Sonic 2
Mario Bros 3
Resident Evil 1 remake
Castlevania 4
Metroid Fusion
Advance wars DS
Streets of rage 2
Dark Souls
Half Life

Off the top of my head, I'd be happy with those ten if they were all I had for the rest of my life. I was tempted to leave Dark Souls off as it's not really retro, but I can't, it's too good, I love it and can see myself going back to it for years to come.

Off the top of my head:

Perfect Dark
Pokemon Gold/Silver
Resident Evil 4
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Timesplitters 2
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Resident Evil 2
Majora's Mask
Half Life 2
Rock Band Series

I think on reflection The Last of Us will take the place of HL2 soon.

Just playing through Super Metroid. Currently in Maridia and trying to grapple along this room. It's so infuriating I'm worried I might smash the SNES in anger.

The Dark Souls of it's day.

Old, but news to me, so thought I'd share: there was a Game Boy Color version of Jet Force Gemini that was practically finished, but for some reason never saw the light of day. :o

Bless, it's sweet that you think you will actually be able to beat the final boss.

I can't remember them every announcing a GBC version either, Suzz. It isn't just our memory playing tricks on us. I think.

Bought a PS1 chunky at a car boot sale for a few quid, controller for £1, cables for £1 and bought a couple games like worms and theme park world - thing is when it's connected after the initial playstation intro the game runs but the screen flickers very fast. Very distracting... anyone know why it would do this? Console issue/ game issue? The games are pretty scratched but it does thje same thing on all 3 games i have!

Probably the cables, Try buying a component or s-video cable off eBay.

I'd probably guess the console, more specifically the av cable/socket.

Which cable are you using? an RF box? Composite? RGB scart?

The PS1 Av out socket has about 12 pins. There's a lot of signals there for different cable signals, so you might try a different type.
