I've just been playing a bit of Mario Golf on the N64 (which I bought the other day)!
Wow, such a good game, and I immediately got back into the swing of things
To me, the sign of a great game is when you haven't played it for 10 years, and when you play it again, it's like you only played it yesterday...I immediately got the feel and subtly of the clubs etc...
Since completing Sonic 1 earlier in the week, I've been on a bit of a roll (no pun intended).
I've since completed for the first time, Earthworm Jim (SNES) and Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Master System.
EJ; I've never been able to get through Buttsville, the insane helicopter sections, bees nests that are infuriating and creatures that bite you in half have always had me, but getting through Snot Fare Level 3, without using any continues helped quite a bit. I killed the last boss not knowing it was the Queen (you circle her on a green snot, shooting at her, which was quite a piss poor final boss). Cool consequences for whipping the cow at the start in the ending.
Sonic the Hedgehog on the SMS was a breeze compared to the Mega Drive counterpart and I enjoyed it more, quite an achievement to shrink the game down for that system whilst maintaining the look and feel of the main console game.
I'm now currently playing for the first time; Sonic 2 and up to Oil Rig Zone. Really enjoying the music, chunkier feel to the game, more vibrant and varied levels. Also the coin loss mechanic has been improved you always have a split second extra to grab one coin, which is making the game slightly easier. Tails does my head in through, sometimes sets platforms away in front of me or makes them crumble leading to stupid deaths and anything he does seems to cause lag city. Coins seem more abundant in general too.

Is there something not too expensive that will tick all the basic boxes for SNES/MD/Neo Geo/PC Engine games? I'm leaning towards the snes-a-like USB controllers on Amazon, but would appreciate it if anyone has bought/used a specific one that works well.
Sonic on Master System is a great game and never gets enough love. When I last played it I missed the extra life in Jungle Act 3 so didn't unlock the extra life in the final level, I might play through it again tonight or tomorrow since I'm it's only around an hour long.
Does anybody know if you can record gameplay footage with Fusion?

I'm guessing the emu is a bit glitchy.
That's adorable, I thought I had seen it but hadn't. It's like a miniaturised Sonic in every respect, that's more platform oriented. Even the credits are cute. "Music Produce".
Just finished Sonic 2, god that last boss was hard and caused many restarts! No rings also, Silver Sonic was a cake walk but Final Eggman hit detection on his claw seems random at times. I'd let him do his 4 steps forward, one back then hit him twice. Then for his next attack (firing his arms) I would just go to the other end of the room and miss that attack pattern I could not avoid them, or if I did they would get me the next time.
Loved the music and level design, it's made me hyped for Sonic Mania. I'll give Sonic a break before I tackle 3.
