Yeah, the Weekender runs from Frday through Monday to hopefully give most folk a chance to join in. I'm always keen to see N64 gear :toot: .

Bought my 13th N64 game today, and I overpaid for it, but I've been on the lookout for it in new & complete condition for ages so I was prepared to do whatever it takes to get it.

Wave Race 64 - £38! For me, it still has the best water physics of any game ever...It feels so perfect, and is one of my favourite racers of all time.

Did we ever work out the best way to get an N64 to display on a modern telly without expensive mods? To make matters worse I have a coloured one so no RGB.

Looks so washed out through scart.

If you don't have RGB in your telly, then no, not really.

It looks horrendous through scart, and unfortunately because you have a coloured one, you can't get s-video either...

N64

And for what it's worth I think World Cup 98 and ECW Revolution were okay. I definitely remember having fun with the former in multiplayer. Post pics plz (either in here or for the Retro Weekender). :toot:

We have both but I think one power suppy is duff, does the PSU that come with the coloured N64 work with the original? I haven't checked the ratings.

I think it should...the only change, as far as I'm aware is that they removed the S-Video functionality from the coloured N64s.

To be perfectly honest, you need to be using the original N64 and run it through the PAL S-Video cable to get the by far the best picture quality...it makes more difference with the N64 than other systems.

Just won a bid for Goldeneye, Wave Race and Shadow of the Empire for £15, which I'm quite happy with. The cartridge for SotE looks pretty worn but I'm happy to get all 3 at that price :toot:

SotE's first level was superb but the rest is mostly rubbish apart from a couple of the other flying bits, the on foot sections were a massive mistake imo and really put me off the game.

Goldeneye is literally the only FPS I've ever actually enjoyed enough to finish, even the motion sickness/migraines it induced didn't put me off.

Picked up Die Hard Vendetta for a quid in Cancer Research today - box is a bit pockmarked but I have a spare that I can transfer all the art and the game into. Pretty happy with that.

Its not awful, its just that the first stage is so good at recreating an iconic scene from the films that the rest seems extremely disappointing in comparison.
