Am I right in thinking you've still got your CPC, Ad? I recall you retrieving it from a loft or something?

Yeah it was the last thing I took from dad's place. I wasn't going to keep it and had left it boxed up ready for whoever finished clearing his house. Then one Saturday morning I realised that was where gaming started for me and I had to have it - I got straight in the car and made the 3 hour round trip to get it.

The disk drive needs repair as it won't read anything, I'll get round to it one day.

That's it - I remember now - and you published a few photos here, too!

Yeah, I recall Amstrad used non-standard 3" (rather than 3.25") disks for their kit. They were the Sony MagicGate of their day  .

I'm hoping to move later in the year to a house or flat that has a spare room for me to set up my old consoles with a big CRT TV. Looking forward to them not having to be kept in the loft actually.

I keep thinking about buying a CRT. I have the space for sure. Expensive rabbit hole to fall down though

Stunt Race FX
Quackshot
Batman Forever
Ducktales ( I wanted 2 as well, but it's mega pricey)
Taz: Escape from Mars
Low G Man
kickle Cubicle
and lastly Plok

Now with Lion King, Aladdin, Spider-Man and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 added. My missus will kill me she see's how much I've spent. Hopefully, she'll fall for 'they were only a few pounds each' lie.

I've been playing lots of Original PlayStation games recently. Started with MGS and it was every bit as good as I could remember, although the controls can be infuriating at times, particularly during the boss fights.

Then I moved on to the originals Silent Hill and whilst it takes some getting used to with regards to graphics and controls, it is still an incredibly frightening experience and I'd love to see it given the Remake treatment.

Finally, after finishing those two, I've moved onto Dino Crisis, a really interesting game, some of the puzzles are really innovative and again I'd love to see a sequel or a remake.

Anyone know where I can buy an empty megadrive game case? One of the games I bought is in a case, which while I normally don't mind the quality the actual plastic is gone off the front. I want to put it in a new case with its cover and gooseberry fool.

Case:

Also, 3 games turned up today. Low G Man, Ducktales, which the case is strawberry floated on, did not notice it on the image (I should have payed more attention as it is shown clearly.) :fp: and Lawnmower Man

Just buy some shitty MD game and swap, the inlays slip in.

I think there are repros too but it might even cost more to order 1.

Try for a 99p thing on eBay, some sucker offering free postage. Something like a non working sonic 1 (which is most of them) should be easy.

I have spent 4 hours today trying to complete Expert Mode on Wave Race Blue Storm. God it's been infuriating.

So have acquired an old 14 inch CRT tv for that authentic N64 experience. I fully expect it to still look like guff. Oh for that N64 mini with all the best games...

It may take a while to adjust to those famously fuzzy graphics, 'dave, but I feel they still deliver a cool experience :) .

Mari Kart Double Dash is not a good game. Playing it not and the controls are awful. You can't seem to hold items behind you and we'll, it's gooseberry fool

I enjoyed Double Dash, so I disagree.

It can't look worse than on a modern tv...

(hopefully...)
