I saw a boxed super famicom in a shop today for 4000 yen (£30). The temptation was so strong but I've just ordered breath of the wild and need to watch my spending. I already own one in the uk anyway. I did buy Wario Ware Twisted boxed for 500 yen though so it works out.

I'm playing Ultimate Spider-Man (the game that came after the Spider-Man 2 movie tie-in) and I'm really, really enjoying it. I can't understand why it wasn't talked about more at the time, or now. People regard SM2 as a really good game but this betters it in pretty much every way. It's got the same web-swinging mechanic that everyone loved from the other game and some fantastic comic-style presentation.

I've snagged myself Beyond Good & Evil and Baten Kaitos. :)

How is the latter pronounced? I say "Bait-en Kay-tos" but my elocution has at times not been my strongest quality.

Yesterday I got mr driller on gamecube. Turns out playing it on a non japanese console formats your memory card. Profound Sadness.

I'd have said Bah-ten Kay-tos but then again my Japanese is somewhat lacking as well.

Ba-ten Kai-tos (バテン・カイトス). Ba is a single syllable, te and n together make "ten". It's a bit like Ninja Gaiden (Gai-den).
ai is pronounced ai, not ay as it would be in english.

I traded in a copy of Baten Kaitos with a disc missing, not deliberately mind you I only realised the error when I got home. They just scanned it in and didn't check the contents, I hope nobody got in too much trouble over it.

Overall I'm very happy with it. The copy of Beyond Good and Evil I won looks absolutely mint so I can't wait to check that out.

I loved Beyond Good and Evil back on GameCube but playing the HD version a year or two back... it hasn't aged well.

That's a lovely set, Drumstick! I've always like the look of the GC Animal Crossing artwork; I remember gamesTM magazine having it on their cover.

Oh, and the state of that carpet.... hang on! That carpet looks pretty reasonable, to be fair!

Wow, game for game, that's almost the exact GameCube collection I used to have, until my great game cull of 2006 when I sold almost 200 mint boxed Nintendo games (something which I will never ever forgive myself for) :fp:

I'll start my GC collection again once I've finished the N64 one...which will probably take me a few years.

I was offered a gamecube and games for free today but turned it down. I'm tempted to change my mind and take it but I really don't need any of it. :fp:

Oh, man, yeah, I guess that most of us have made that mistake at some point. I sold my imported Asian Mega Drive and about ten Japanese MD games, and later my set of forty-odd mint Master System games (including Power Strike I and II :fp: ), back in the 90s... it still hurts to think about it :( .

It's odd how some folk like to keep their gaming gear whilst others are content to just move on to a newer machine. I do enjoy the retro gear that I have but, with the PS4, I've embraced downloading. I like older boxed games but, since manuals were wiped out and discs became download keys, I don't have that same fondness for newer boxed versions.

I could never get rid of my megadrive stuff. Far too many feels associated with it.

Traded my game boy with about games (including links awakening) against f1 97 back in the day. My parents were furious :fp:

Missed it so much down the line I bought it all again when I got my first job :datass:

Yeah I've been there and done it. Got rid of my N64 collection to fund the GC. I then subsequently traded in some GC games to afford new releases. I think I've got back all the ones that I regretted disposing of.

Still miss the N64 collection though. :(

OK, I've got to ask, and honestly I'll try to believe whatever you say but... What the strawberry float were you derping in 2006?
