That I should be able to manage, provided Zelda arrives on time. Might have to save that for next week.

Now I've reached 15 games on N64, I might put that on hold for a bit and try to get some more SNES games. I have 29 so far and about 15 left to go...but they're all so expensive. There's not one game I want which won't be at least £100!

Let us know if you make it past the boss rush, that for most, kills the game. It's insane.

Fire Leo killed it for me. After several attempts I couldn't even get close to beating him.

Same here, I simply couldn't get any further than that.

Stupid Boss Rushes. I hate them.

They're just no fun, especially if you don't get any power-ups in between.

Yeah it's pretty tough, but stick at it and you'll learn the pattern and eventually do it.

I'm sure it won't be a problem.

It really frustrates me when I find games I really like but just can't beat. I've beaten some games that some most consider pretty hard like Devil May Cry 3, Vanquish and a whole bunch of Souls games but then you have stuff like Viewtiful Joe, Ninja Gaiden Black and Metroid Prime 2 which I just feel will forever elude me.

What's with the spoilers BTW? I mean I don't care that I now know there's a boss rush but still.

In worse news, I don't think I have the funds to purchase a game this month as I've got the other half's birthday to organise.

I think I'm going to out my retro purchasing on hold for at least 6 months.

I've spent way too much in the past few months, and I've just got a bit of a shock looking at my bank balance. :(

Last 2 months includes:

£60 on Zelda Ocarina of Time
£60 on Mario Kart 64
£50 on Mario 64
£35 on Wave Race

That's slightly crazy...I've been overpaying to get the games in complete and mint condition, but as soon as I get them, I stick them straight into tubs and put them into storage. It's pretty stupid, as I don't even have any of them on display anywhere. They're all boxed up in the attic.

Enough is enough, and it's a good time to stop. I have 15 N64 games and 30 SNES games. That's enough for now.

I'll start collecting again this Winter or next year.

Andy, yeah, I can understand that. Retro gaming can be a pretty expensive hobby! You've picked up quite a few gems in past months and it makes sense to sit back and spend a bit of time enjoying what you have rather than keep on splashing out. You've got more than enough to take part in the Weekender for a while ;-).

Yes, it got to the point where I was buying for the sake of buying, rather for the sake of collecting and treasuring something.

I need to take stock of what I've got and enjoy that as opposed to buying games every 2 weeks...It's almost taken the enjoyment away.

Ah - yes, I need to get something out for this week's Weekender. I've have to have a hunt through my tubs!

I've been down that road, dude. It can become a bit of a habit... at one time I was checking eBay constantly rather than just playing the stuff that I had. Good on you for realising this and taking a step back!

It'd be great to see you pop up an item if you get the time!

Just completed Doom HD on Xbox for the first time (or any Doom for that matter) I absolutely loved it never played any of these as a kid, dived straight into Doom II taking advantage of the BC Sale on Live.

I'm amazed the levels are so packed with secrets and the level progression is great, although in the Final Chapter some of the levels are rock solid.

The condition that some eBay sellers keep their items in, I've seen a few awful ones this morning.

This one for example.

Scuffed box, games all faded and scratched up and inlays missing. :dread:

I can accept the box ending up like that. Mine, if it still exists, will be in a similar condition.
Those carts though :dread:
