I prefer having the horrific follow up. Makes the good bits even better. I would say less risk of arrest, but I've probably been arrested more than you.

I've recently discovered that the old 'hair of the dog' wives tale, is incredibly effective at dispatching a hangover, no matter how rough you feel, a few swigs of beer in the morning and you're feeling fine. It's a bit wasteful though, as I never really feel like having the full beer in the morning.

I was meant to be getting drunk tonight, but went out and only got one drink. Just chatted with my mates, a bit of pool, was good.

I always fall asleep if I drink at any time other than the evening. I suppose sleep is a good hangover cure, though.

You wouldn't fall asleep from a few swigs of beer, seriously that's all it takes, try it next time you're feeling really rough.

The problem is, to feel really rough in the morning, I've generally exhausted my entire supply of beer. Therefore hair of the dog isn't really and option. I merely recall times when I had money, and went out for extravagant lunches, with much boozing involved.

I hate being drunk.

But I like to drink - it's a delicate balance to be struck.

Getting drunk is fine. Though I do avoid spirits when possible. Too strong for my liking

I always have 1-2 pints of tap water about 5 minutes before bed.

Then I wake up feeling Dandy. How I get to Holland when I'm drunk I never know...

Yuck, vodka does the same to me. Gives me the shakes the next day. Constantly trembling until my sleep sorts me out. I like drinking Disaronno, lovely liqueur, I can drink the half bottle, be drunk yet still remember everything and be in control of what I choose to do. I'd say it's borderline drunk if I'm still in control. Lovely feeling that one is. And the alcohol is 40 percent as well.

I do prefer another substance though, doesn't make me feel worse for wear or anything.

I hardly ever drink but when I do it's always whiskey and coke or scotch. Beer/lager makes me sick and I just can't drink it.
I don;t seem to get drunk on whiskey tho, I've had something like 12 or 13 in a night and gotten up next day with no ill effects.

I absolutely adore the taste of some lagers/beers.

But I'm not altogether keen on being overly drunk, nicely tipsy is where I'm at.

EDIT: Not where I'm at right now you must understand...

I'm not a massive fan of getting drunk any more. The last few months have seen far too many one night stands and fights.

Ah, you see, spirits are evil. Beer is where it's att. You piss most of it out, and the rest can be solved with either an egg butty or an aspirin.

.......up until the age of 23 yes. When you finally leave uni, get a proper job and/or a family you realize teenagers are doing it as well and you feel rather immature when doing it. Obviously if you have no responsibility then fair enough.

Yes, I am considered the slightly fruity one of my social circle, for example at a wedding reception 2 weeks ago I found myself drinking free cups of camomile and earl grey all night instead of beer. I got really bladdered a few years ago, made a tit of myself but embarressed the missis which made me feel (and her) rather ashamed of myself.
