The Director Cut upgrade is available for PS4, but I couldn't see the Director Cut upgrade anywhere for PS5?

All I could see are two options, it's either this or the full game with Director Cut for £59.99/£69.99.

The PS5 version is the director’s cut. There’s no version coming to PS5 without it.

The upgrade from PS4 to PS5 will be available on the store on Friday.

So if you already have the ps4 version its 15.99 for the director's cut on PS5 right?

if thats the case, its quite decent... just finsihed Ratchet and Clank so might be the time to meet again with the Sensei

It’s the same for previous upgrades. It wouldn’t appear on the store until launch dates. FF7remake is a good example of this.

Sony doesn’t make it clear that there will be a upgrade for existing PS4 owners to PS5 versions and still make the full PS5 version available for preorder is kinda scummy. You would have to go on their blog to know about the upgrades.

I think in this case it’ll be something like £23.99 if you have the base PS4 version to upgrade to the PS5 director’s cut.

You can upgrade your PS4 version to the PS4 directors cut now for £15.99 and later upgrade from that to PS5 director’s cut for about £7.99.

Then it'll be a pass for now I guess, kinda sucks that you have to pay a premium because you bought a new console

I think it's a total of £24.99 to upgrade from the vanilla PS4 version to the PS5 DC. Seems a bit steep seeing it already runs at 60fps on back compat so unsure why they would charge for the native PS5 version apart from the obvious reason to fleece gamers again

No, there's an upgrade available tomorrow for £23.99 (I think? It's 50% more expensive than the PS4 DLC in the US).

You could buy that PS4 upgrade now and then the PS5 upgrade will be discounted to £7.99 (another guess at the exact price) tomorrow.

The prices in the US are $20 for the PS4 DLC, $10 to upgrade the Game + DLC from PS4 to PS5, or $30 to go from PS4 base version to PS5 with DLC.

The simplest way to describe it is that

PS5 games cost $10 more than PS4 games
There is no standalone version (i.e. without the director's cut DLC) on PS5
There's no loophole or way to game the system to avoid the extra $10 cost
