I liked the look of this but wasn't blown away. I... I think I'm broken.

Of the games shown but without dates, this is definitely the one I'm most looking forward to based off their E3 showing.

Combat looks incredibly polished, I like the way the sword slashes at the flesh.

Graphically, this is how SoulCalibur should look by now

I was a little disappointed in the combat at first.

When he encounters that first group and kills the guy with one slash I thought it was a sign of brutal, harsh combat where the weapons are really deadly and you need to know how to use them.

Then the other enemies took several hits to kill and it became apparent that wasn't the case and it's just the usual generic hack 'n' slash stuff (That's not to say it's not got any strategy to it of course).

So yeah I wish they'd doubled down on the deadliness of the swords and made combat a more thoughtful, precise piece of gameplay. The one on one fight at the end looked better though.

Combined with the fact that it's going to be yet another open-world action game and I find it hard to get excited about it, even if it does look gorgeous.

Agreed on the combat. The first slash and kill made me think of bushido blade from way back when. If it took that approach i’d be incredibly hyped about it.

That being said. It looks glorious. The winds effect on the environment just made it look incredibly lush.

Can’t wait to see more. Especially if you get to be a robin seven samurai style.

Looks stunning. But also looks like every other 3rd person open world game that have seemingly blurred together now.

We truly are in the age of the 3rd person open world game, they are everywhere.

Is this likely to be a traditional open world game though?

The demo showed up text saying ‘Day 9 of Mongol invasion’. Presuming the game takes place at varying stages of a progressing invasion I’m not sure how this would work with just a regular open world, unless you’re gradually pushed backwards in a big map. That would seem odd though, to make the players available game area smaller the further you go into the game.

This is going to be a much more condensed experience since it's taking place on one island. Which I much prefer over having huge open worlds.

Yeah it's only (checks google) 708.7 km2, nice and condensed :P

Ghost of Tsushima will have Japanese audio track option

PlayStation 4 exclusive Ghost of Tshushima drew comments last night during PlayStation's E3 conference from fans wishing that the Japan-set game would feature a Japanese language option. Today, in a press demo of the game attended by Eurogamer, developer Sucker Punch confirmed just that.

The details are still being worked upon, but a Japanese-language option with English subtitles was mentioned. The demo we saw consisted of the gameplay section shown during PlayStation's press conference, but now in Japanese. Plans are afoot to localise the full game, Sucker Punch said.

Featuring a keen eye for detail (Sucker Punch mentioned sending an audio scout to Japan to record, among other things, native birdsong), Ghost of Tshushima is intended as a "time machine" for players wanting an accurate representation of the location and era. A Japanese language soundtrack would certainly help with this.
