It looks like a game from last gen that got canned and they decided to clean up a bit and release it

I'm definitely unsure if I'll pick it up.

I think it feels like there's not enough to do and everything is too far apart.

There's posts from Ubisoft employees on the ghost recon subreddit saying the beta doesn't truly reflect the end result and they're making changes based on feedback. So I dunno.

If we do get it I promise I won't shoot down Devlin's helicopters anymore.

So I just discovered I've been provided with access to the closed beta for this (PS4 Pro - downloading 23GB right now). I never get chosen for betas, open or closed. Tell me I'm special!

I'm guessing this going to be time-limited and probably online MP-only, which if true would be a shame as a) my game time is limited and b) I won't be playing online.

But - hey - at least I finally (finally!) got invited into a beta!

I'm looking at my TV right now and the PS4 says it's downloading a Closed Beta. Go figure.

[Edit] Yes, it did turn out to be the Open Beta. The download was incorrectly titled on PS Store. Didn't matter anyway as I couldn't actually play it once it was downloaded - just got a screen with a countdown timer, showing two days still left to go before the Beta opened. Nah. Ain't got time for that nonsense. Deleted.

Not sure why that deserved a facepalm.

They haven't updated the thumbnail for the game that was used for the Closed Beta a few weeks back and it uses the same file just with an update applied.

Enjoy the most unintentionally funny game in years.
The car handling has to be seen to be believed and driving up sheer mountains just for the fun of hurtling down them and again often upside down while hanging out the side of the window without a care in the world just never gets old.

I gave the open beta a try this evening... and I hugely enjoyed it! The environments are terrific in terms of scale and detail - I really like the weather effects and touches like the water and mud are excellent.

I played in solo mode and the AI team members performed very well. The controls are quite complicated and there is a lot to take in, but over time I found that I was picking things up.

Had a funny moment in one mission; we successfully ambushed a baddie camp and took the boss's sports car. Looking at the map, I saw an option to fast travel to the place we had to take the car to. I did so, only to find that the fast travel option didn't include the car :) . So we traveled back to the camp... and the baddies were all alive and the car was back in the garage, so we had to tackle it all again  .

I had a lot of fun with it - it's a great demo - and I'd love to pick-up the full game.

Tried the open beta last night. Not exaggerating when I say it's one of the worst things masquerading as entertainment I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing.

The AI of villagers is non-existent, alerting one enemy seems to alert all of them instantaneously, the gunplay feels terrible, the vegetation on the side of the hill I drove down had no physical presence so I went straight through it, the car went faster backwards than forwards, the player character ran faster than the cars I drove, so many of the textures are so so ugly up close that I assumed they'd pulled them from another game circa 2002 and my time with the beta ended when this happened.

It's amazing how the demo has provoked such a different response from each of us, Sykes!

I'm slightly surprised when you say your character could run faster than the vehicles. I spent an hour or so driving motorbikes, vans, cars, jeeps and a tractor. Only the tractor was slow :) .

Infact, that's what this game is!!

It's Ghost Recon: A-Team!

The terrible gunplay, the sketchy driving, the shitty quips from the soldiers - it's the TV show!

 . I do love sandbox games where you can wander about and tackle things however you want to. In those situations I'm in my element! To be honest, I'd rather stroll around, look at the scenery and drive a car up a mountain than take on a mission  .

Well...

They haven't improved anything from Closed to Open Beta. It's fun to play but at same time the more I played, it's frustrating.

Last night, we, three of us, played together and went to the new area by a helicopter in the West. There was a big lake so one of my mates said to me, "Jump out!" So I did but the game won't let me jump at all! So we crashed down, all of us were still alive except the helicopter was damaged.

Almost five year old, GTAV had everything in details compare to this. Make me think what they have done to this for in four year project.

Disappointing. I may pick it up at later when the price drops or they have improved a lot with the things what we all gave our feedbacks.

I'm definitely boomeranging this and I don't mind making my character part of the A-team.
