I guess my collector's ed of Metroid Dread was so threatened by the surprise release of MP1 remastered it just decided to die by suicide. It's been on a shelf for like 2 years what is this

That collateral damage :dread:

Zen as strawberry float though 8-)

Check out the local news sites. There was a recent incident of a DVD case leaping of the shelves.

I noticed an Adventure Time poster! :toot: .

I couldn't see a Wii U :( .

And, uhm... I don't wanna pry... but... are you *permanently* recording your living room, Gecko? :o .

Good suggestion, but that's not an adjoining wall. It's the hallway next to that.

This is an excessive use of force by physics itself. It's been sat there for ages.

And then N1FFY complains about the noise.

It's a nest cam for when we're away, as my partner gets anxious. But also because I have a business based downstairs, with the only entrance and exit being the main room. So I need to prove forced entry for insurance purposes.

The video gets automatically erased every 7 days or so, it being a rolling thing. So useful for break ins etc but not a permanent record.

Wasn't that long ago that some random kids knocked asking to charge their phone. A girl and two sketchy looking strawberry floaters. The scam is they come in your house and sleuth around pocketing random stuff.

It's a conservation area in a city with plenty of impoverished people so being not well off ourselves I guess it was a risk we wanted to mitigate somehow.

It's also useful if any agency workers / new starters for my care act out, which did happen once.

I'm not always comfortable with it myself but it is what it is. I'd be truly strawberry floated if I was robbed basically.

You can just turn them off too - I have a smarthome so its very easy to tell it to turn off whenever.

I might fit one outside but that's where I would stop personally. I don't have secret cameras all over my home. It's just us sat on our arse watching netflix 90% of the time. :slol:

That's under the telly and yes it is plugged in :)

Glad you like the poster.

That's excellent tech and security, GG - it's definitely something I'd like to look into once I'm back on my feet.

And reading Adventure Time comics for the other 10% .

Post updated to ensure you are aware of my valid Club U membership 8)

There is a sunken window in the cellar which I've thought about adding intrusion sensors to, again just in case of the worst possible event, but it would be pretty damn hard to get in that way.

I'm not cash rich so if I was targetted that's it really.

Just an unfortunate side effect of listing your biz on the Internet, even though I hide my address. I used to work at a co-working space that itself was robbed and they had a camera FACING the inside door meaning the burglar was facing AWAY from the camera, strawberry floating hell. Fancy text notifications and bells and everything as well.

The reason I cover the whole room is that any of those windows could be broken to force access. You have to show that the windows were secured and forcibly opened (they all have brass stops because sash windows cannot be replaced without planning permission here, it's a whole thing, I assure you).

Excellent stuff! My own U is in a cupboard at the mo' which is, of course, a disgrace :shifty: .

They do look really smart. Pretty posh! :toot: . Will deffo be exploring that camera tech once I'm back into work.

Did it say how the place is both paranormal af, has a tiny market, and was once home to a stool bloke who upped sticks and left for pastures unknown?

We have a couple of cameras in our house too. It's mainly for the purpose of checking on the cats when we are away from home, but the security element is a bonus. There's higher end stuff out there, but for £25 you can buy ours (Neos). Well worth the investment!

You don't live in Great Yarmouth do you Geko? Could have been vibrations from the bomb which exploded!

Haha no I live in East Sussex.

I also had the geckos, sadly the last one died a while ago, so we were thinking, how can we ever go on holiday if a lizard needs misting every day and feeding every 2-4 days? And even if we pay a friend we think is trustworthy how do we know they are doing it? Did they close the latch on the vivarium? Aaaand what if they escape?? :dread: After all they can climb walls and ceilings and remain there for literally days. And a check that the heating and the lights are all on. Did go on first holiday in over a decade but the gecko had relieved itself from duty and so wasn't a problem. Yet still if I want more...

Tbh there's a bunch of cameras on this street, I think at least every other one is alarmed. The entire thing is painted bright white and there are scaffolds up and down constantly just for painting and sash renovation (the impact wrenches are really annoying). It's a strawberry floating war of who has the whitest house, but if you don't do it, the walls eventually crack and fall apart. I bet there are people with cameras just so they can check whether a bird shat on their house while they were at work. Which reminds me... I need to deal with that.

At four seconds in, you can see something light up or glint off something on the shelf before it falls down.

Tis the hand of a ghost!

I hadn't seen that and I have no idea what it is! It's probably just kind of encoding artefact.

I thought maybe a car diving past or a bird obfuscating the sun, but it gets lighter, not momentarily darker!

It's a mystery.

Seriously this was stationary for months and months.

My going theory is rather dull. The way the shelves are invisible mounted is via angle irons plastered into the wall and jointed into the hardwood, so there aren't any traditional brackets. But over time when loaded even steel will sag. Hence the shelf might decline by degree or so.

The Metroid Dread box was actually stood upright, with the steelbook leant on it, so at some point it just decided, strawberry float you I'm going to roll forward and then a bunch of other stuff went with it. Going by that being the heaviest thing.

That said, many things all feel at the same time, so it might not necessarily have been that. Some strawberry floating weird kind of convection current or something. This included a wooden framed picture of my late grandfather, my partner's graduation portrait with her parents (which smashed in an aluminium frame), the build yourself camera and a hand painted Japanese fan.

Lewis how could you not mention the camera? Were you being subtle? I love that thing. I might have 3-5 exposures left. Thank you  Of course it was together with these other special things!

On the same shelf there's a boxed Goldeneye N64 bundle with the golden controller and besides that mostly DVDs. And another painted fan. I brought a few back from Kyoto and Nara.

Now I'm not a fan of big box special eds, I just treated myself to this one in isolation as I wanted the art book and love the Metroid creature design. Don't lean them on shelves :dread:

I have a personal theory that the laws of physics occasionally change for a millisecond or two.

I once dropped a round paracetamol tablet onto the floor which then rolled several metres across the room, did a 90 degree turn out of the room, into the hallway for a couple of metres and a second 90 degree turn into another room. There no way that could be repeated even if you tried a million times.
