Seems like they've fixed some of the original releases issues with the 75% PS5 version rising to 84% on Xbox - https://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-se ... wire-tokyo

Performance seems weird with some saying great, some bad.

Ghostwire Tokyo’s Xbox release is a triumph. Not content to rest on their laurels, the hardworking developers over at Tango Gameworks have taken a year to evaluate what didn’t work with the original release, and in turn, have done a commendable job that not only adds a substantial amount of new content but also fixes a lot of the issues that dragged the 2022 release down. Ghostwire: Tokyo may still suffer from a couple of legacy issues with regards to the pacing and overall movement, but they’re small blemishes on an otherwise impeccable re-release that’s absolutely worth investing in, regardless of whether you’re stepping into Akito’s shoes for the first time, or intending on making a return trip to the demonic streets of Tokyo.

I too am looking forward to trying this. Always loved the look of it, so it’s good to see it has had some in depth upgrades.

Played the first Chapter, it's not bad, is it all a horror game because being in a hospital abandoned at night was eerie.

It's really not a horror game. It kinda sets you up with that expectation with the introduction at the hospital like you say but after that it doesn't lean into horror at all really which I thought was a missed opportunity given the subject matter but there we go.

Can't wait to dive back into it on PS5. The new dlc looks very substantial especially the changes to elemental attacks

Me too. I started it last night and played for a couple of hours. I love the atmosphere of it. Put it straight up to hard and the challenge feels great, but it can be toggled on the fly as required.

I'm enjoying it so much im just exploring all the areas and roof tops, some of the abilities you get are fantastic, dropping down from a high point onto one of those umbrella lads and instantly tearing out his core is awesome.

The haptic triggers on my Series 2 controller work really well when yanking them out from afar also.

It's amazing with the Dual Sense. Some of the best utilisation I have experienced.

I'm sure it is, with more feedback I reckon it's probably incredible.

Game is still creeping me out, I can't lie, searching a house for a sobbing little girl was unsettling. Kinda crazy that such a japenese centric game and IP is owned by Xbox. :o

Yeah, that aspect of the combat is so satisfying. Without exaggeration, I'm not sure I've experienced anything quite like it, certainly not with that level of impact. It's hard to explain but it really works well.

There’s not much to do, is there?

Do the investigation, explore the map and find statues, talk to the cats at the little stores to trade in your side quest items. Upgrade, explore, collect souls and soak in the atmosphere.

I honestly think this may be the best game I have played this year so far (it's this or Cyberpunk).

I'm only 5 hours in, so my opinion may change, but I have absolutely loved the atmosphere of it so far (which was a claim I often made of Cyberpunk, now I think about it).

Playing on hard has meant lots of weapon switching, perfect blocking and full utilisation of all the mechanics. Its certainly not a "hard" hard mode, but it makes all the open world tooling about worth it.

It also has quite a lot of incidental dialogue which feels like it only comes about because of a very particular thing you did or went to. Which is something I am always a big fan of.

Its funny, I never consider myself a fan of first person games, but this year has got me questioning that.

Dude, I was sarcasming. There’s SO much to do. I love it. Restore a population of over 200,000 souls?! It’s really going to test my completionist tendency.

Fed a dog and he smiled and dug me up some currency. Cute.

I'm nowhere no completing all the side stuff despite being at about 40 hours playtime.

A few tips for new players ... .

Pay max donation at the little boxes next to the gates to have statues highlighted on the map.

Invest in fire as when it's maxed and charged it's basically a rocket launcher with huge splash damage.

You can upgrade your life bar by eating, so each time you get hurt, heal and it'll upgrade you max life bar.

You can equip a few accessories, anything that increases your reveal range is worth equipping. Also boost your fire damage is useful.

Don't spend money on food items as the world is loaded with stuff to collect. Instead use money to buy special items.

Ah cool, did not know there were accessories that have stat boosts. Will keep an eye out for those.
