Played this all night yesterday :slol:

Getting the new spear and the Torn mission was great! I’m also really liking Odin and Asgard

Can someone explain to me how the stagger in this game works?

There seems to be almost no consistency to it. Sometimes enemies flinch, sometimes they're as hard as rocks, breeze through your attacks and you're forced to dodge for 5 seconds.

Nooo!! They got rid of that dimensions hub place from the previous game!! I was really looking forward to seeing all those saturated colours again, but this time on my OLED

Amazing game this. I have a level list and I’m about 1/2 way through and about 18 hours through. I love it. The pacing is brilliant, the combat challenging and rewarding and some of the bosses really tricky.

The graphics are incredible. I’m playing on a C1 and it’s amazing. The realms give you plenty of scope for different climates and style. Loved the Asgard level for the view.

The pacing in Ironwood  Loved the use of pigments as a weapon though!

Everyone mentions that effect, and yet somehow I never noticed it.

Agree with your pacing comment - low point of the game probably.

Y'know when wots 'er face uses powder to magically turn crumbled rocks blocking the path into their original standing stones form so they can progress further into boring the tits off us? Well it's like that but in combat and with more variety of colours. For me it's the best graphical flourish of the gen so far.

I know the one you are referring to, I just never paid attention to it whilst playing!

If that prophecy was legit it would depict Atreus wriggling through a crevice before meeting with Odin. Can't wait for the PS5 remake which does away with them.

Random thoughts from past few sessions...

Everytime this game takes liberties with the concept of a long take it makes me cringe so hard I fear my whole being collapse in on itself.

Some really good drama though. Even during the mostly naff Ironwood section.

Freya's performance has been the best by a mile. To the point where I wish I was playing as her.

You know Freya, you really are the Goddess of War.

Brok's moment in the game: Sindri setting the story up and Brok getting closure on it of sorts down the line? Great. Kratos using a line to bring comfort and reassurance to Brok which were uttered mere moments ago by Brok? Amateur hour. Everything else in the cutscene was great though. 10/10 for not sexing up The Lady.

EDIT: And I'm loving the new gear.

Who plays Odin in this? His performance comes off like he's a mob boss or something. I love it.

I agreed with you about Freya's performance and she was amazing in this.

Aye. It's a shame it wasn't held back for the climax of the game or something. Though that's me assuming she hasn't got similarly delivered lines yet to come.

The heart-to-heart moment between Kratos and Atreus: That callback to the previous game's Don't be sorry. Be better. was AMAZING.
