It's ******* disgusting to sell the system with no real warning that it gimps your games. Worst yet is you can't even buy a HDD to sort the problem out. I wonder how many others have fallen for it?

And Rik one more shitty trolling comment trying to deflect this **** and I will ban you.

Go ahead.

How is it trolling to point out the obvious.

If you're going to spend a couple of hundred quid on something then at least do your homework on what you're buying

Sorry the truth hurts but ban away.

But thats not really the point is it, not everyone researches the games they play, someone might have seen an advert for the game and decided to buy it, can't really blame the customer for buying a console and game, then expecting it to work, more to the point, why is there no warning on the game box?

I think we're going to be the cause of the latest PR Nightmare, but it needs to happen, xmas is coming up and there will be a lot of kids missing out on some Xmas Day online fun.

You needed a HDD for co-op in Crackdown years ago, it's nothing new and the cheapest Xbox 360 has never had a HDD from launch.

Although it should warn you on the Halo Reach box and it doesn't I just looked, which is pretty bad.

I did as I said so earlier.

Nobody would expect a 4gb HDD in 2010, it wouldn't make any sense at all.

Yeah, i'm sure my Nan can tell me why it wouldn't make sense to have a 4GB HDD in the current year. My parents (and ALOT of other parents) won't even know what Flash Memory is compared to a HDD, they've probably bought their kids consoles not knowing anything about them.

We're talking about someone who posts on a games forum though, not some senile old lady.

My Nan isn't senile.

Anyway, so what if he posts on a games forum, if we did a poll, i'm sure I wouldn't be the only one who didn't know.

And he still managed to get caught out by it. Hardly unlikely to think that others might as well.

Children shouldn't be playing Halo online anyways.

I would of thought that the 4GB Flash would work the same as a HDD, Microsoft. :fp:

While I didn't expect it to be a HDD, I was amazed when I found out that Microsoft didn't allow the 4GB to be used for online play. I can't think of a good reason for it either, as 4GB of Flash Memory is just as good as a 4GB HDD. I can only assume that they, for obvious reasons, don't allow USBs to run online and, lazily, just have the onboard Flash Memory marked as the same.

They should really put this gooseberry fool on the box, you know. You shouldn't need to be someone who spends every waking moment on games forums just to get a machine that strawberry floating works as advertised.

It does actually gimp 360 games. It's not something you can gloss over. I just don't get why it doesn't say "Some games or features will not work without a HDD" in a big warning.

the HDD is out this month

http://www.amazon.co.uk/250GB-Hard-Disk-Drive-Console/dp/B003VYAX1I/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1284503885&sr=1-5

This is a problem with the Reach box rather than the system.

I wonder how many other people this has happened to? For both newcomers and those wanting to upgrade, the price of one of those 4GBs and Reach would have been very tempting.

I see Rik is fighting the good PR fight :fp:

It does have a warning on the Reach box, but in very small print.

It should also specify exactly which features won't work.

System box should make people aware that some games/features won't work as expected.

I wish to point out, when I made that post, all I was aware of Jiggle's plight was that he'd expected a headset in the box, then found there wasn't one and had to find an awkward workaround.

As for the HDD requirements being misleadingly labeled at best, or deliberately placed deceptively at worst, that is pretty bad form on MicroSoft's part.
