They never found her body.

Weirdly I haven't watched this in nearly 2 years due to working. I kinda want to watch it, but I can never be bothered to find the time.

I still think they should do a late night Neighbours like Hollyoaks where everyone gets their tits out.

'Suck my cock, Dee'
'strawberry float you Toadie, I'm dead'

You know, really hard hitting storylines like that.

Isn't Neighbours actually shown in the evening in Australia, as opposed to tea-time like it is here? I'm sure I once heard that there was a storyline where a guy was getting addicted to drugs, but in the UK version he just kept going to nightclubs and it never actually showed anything to do with drugs

That isn't actually Dee, it's a fake Dee that looks identical to her and took advantage of Toadie. She ruined Sonja and toadies marriage :x

What a babe though

Yeah, watched for the first time in years a few months ago when she came back and it was thought she was fake.

Still great to see the old Dee back though. I'm gonna try and make time to watch it again. Missed Neighbours so much.

I thought Floex was joking with his fake Dee storyline  :fp:

According to The Sun this evening it’s been scrapped and the soap will end this August. Apparently the Australians don’t watch it and it costs Channel 5 too much money (they’re funding most of it). Still does over a million viewers though.

I haven’t really watched it since it left BBC1.

End of an era. I kinda stopped watching it when I started work and I had even less interest in it when my Mum who I used to watch it with passed away. Always loved it though, it was just the right kind of cheese.

I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid.

When I went to Australia in 2011 me and the wide did the tour and met Stingray.

O no how sad! Haven't watched it in years too since around 2013. It will be missed.

Hopefully it might be picked up by another channel like when it moved from BBC to C5.

That said, it does seem silly to drop the show as the time slot will only end up being filled with repeats and the usual random crap which fills the daytime schedules.

In terms of the show's quality though, the last 18 months haven't exactly been stellar in terms of storylines, and some of the newer characters have been incredibly dull, so while i don't think it should have been axed, it was definitely in need of a revamp.

Neighbours gave me some of my greatest teenage crushes: Holly Valance, Natalie Imbruglia, Kimberley Davis, Madeleine West and Alan Fletcher.

Sad to see it go, but I literally haven't watched it since I started work. In September 2000.

I read C5 were paying something like £21 million per year for it, so I can't see there being that many broadcasters wanting to pick it up. Sounds like it's extremely expensive.

Soaps are all declining in popularity anyway. Nobody under the age of 40 wants to watch Ian Beale farting around in a fish and chip shop and the potato brothers having another ruck. At least Neighbours always felt more upbeat and aspirational.
