The actress is still alive though. I'm surprised they didn't have her in a dream sequence or something. Really find memories of the classic era, Mrs Mangel, Joe, Daphne etc. UK gold replayed the lot from the start in the 90s and played something like 4 episodes a day and quickly caught up. I used to watch every morning before school and then the "modern" episodes which were on Hannah Martin, Philip Martin etc on BBC1.

Channel 5 basically murdered the show and should never be forgiven.

Well Madge's ghost has been in it before so is an official character. Felicity (flick) came back as well  plus the never aging Harold bishop.

It's what the Australians were saying on Twitter. I haven't seen the episode so can't 100% confirm.

Madge came back when Harold went insane, he kept seeing her as he got more and more ill. He basically never got over her.

I watched this for years and years after it moved to Channel 5. I only stopped really a few years ago when my Mum died. It was always our thing so I couldn't bring myself to watch it anymore :(

The British soaps have done ghost/hallucination episodes to bring characters back before, tbf. It's not *that* mad compared to, like, a Dream Team plotline or something. Look up Don Barker if you get a second.

Watching the final episode on a slight delay and whatsapping a live chat with my mum. We used to watch it together when I was in primary school. No Madge ghost yet, and if that doesn't happen I want Moggy banned forever!

Madge was there with a blink if you miss it appearance at the end, shame some of the cameos were Zoom appearances when they were in Aus, Joe Mangel, Holly Valance, Natalie Imbruglia and a few others odd they couldn't show up on the street for the finale. Was a good finale though i enjoyed its sad its ended was a better ending then Brooksides lol Guy Pearce out acted a majority of the younger cast

Such a lovely finale, really enjoyed that.

Guy Pearce stole the show.

Moggy can survive. I believe Madge's ghost was in it briefly, very briefly but very well done so that it didn't go absolutely nuts again for an ending. I could be wrong and hallucinated it as it was a blink and you'll miss it moment. Could have done with more of the classic characters. Phillip Martin got absolutely screwed.

But as an ending to a cult soap, they really couldn't have done much better than that.

Edit: How does Susan Kennedy remain so hot until this day? Hotter than Kylie.

The ghost scene didn't have ghosts per say, it was Susan remembering those who had departed. The whole thing was tastefully done and worked well.

Nice to see a cameo from Finn Kelly too, he was great fun.

The hype about Kylie and Jason coming back to the street was OTT when they had not much screen time or lines. While Guy Pearce & Annie were the best part of the closing episodes and old faces coming back. Izzy still looks hot

Guy Pearce is having a whale of a time in this last episode. Playing it absolutely straight as a bat.

Have not watched the programme for 20 years or more, but that brought a tear to my eye. I’m putting it down to my age.

I think it's been said that they didn't want to make it all about them, especially if it was at the expense of the regular cast.

Did anyone notice that Kylie hardly spoke in the finale? What was that all about? I think they only thing she actually said was 'harold' and then giggled randomly.
