Thanks for the re-invite. Last time I joined I found the sheer number/frequency of messages to be a bit overwhelming (a "me problem" for sure!) so I didn't end up contributing at all. I think it'd probably be the same this time around but I do appreciate the thought and the invite.

I muted it within a few hours of being added! But I do check in periodically to skim what I've missed and add to the conversation where possible. Muting just allows you to drop in as and when you like, without the pesky notifications.

But if you mute it you won't know if someone's typed "Sprouty smells".

Guys, whatsapp groups are meant to be muted?

I have every single group with more than 3 people muted. If there has been a big long chat about something I can't relate to, like F Zero 99 or Curls spamming it about RE4 or Hades, I just click mark all as read and move on.

Yeah this is fairly basic stuff for whatsapp. I woke up to nearly 400 messages the other day and just marked 'em read. Unless I'm tagged in something, it's not important enough to have to read through everything.

 Honestly, I couldn't do that. I have to read all the messages I've missed in a group chat or it messes with my head. I don't think I've ever muted a group chat, except when I go to bed at night but then everything on my phone is muted.

That's fine but you're never allowed the dopamine hit of Dan laugh reacting to one of your messages from days ago if you'll never be doing that to others.

It's like a Dark Souls message getting rated.
