If it is they will just use the same stuff they have in sport and make it more single player like they should have done. Bet it will essentially be the same game

Insanely easy amirite :datass:

I've barely played GT sport, I just found it so boring. The only bit I've really enjoyed is the lap challenges.

The AI needs such am overhaul.

I know you love your racing games, and are good at them... so what's your favourite? Genuine question. I've been hovering over GT Sport for a while but the AI kinda puts me off, plus, I still have loads of Driveclub I never finished.

The AI is awful, cars just move into you like they are on some programed track.

Its a better game since the updates and im enjoying all the challenges. Still not sold on the online gooseberry fool.

Driveclub was a much better fun game imo

I enjoyed DC, very much so, but the AI in that was generally terrible as well. Crashing and bumping into you before zooming off into the distance, not to mention the awful rubber banding.

AI in racing games are generally terrible. Some better than others, granted, but racing AI is an area I'd like to see a marked improvement in across the board.

I thought the GRID/TOCA series nailed it. Shame we haven't seen a new one in a long time. In fact Apple are still using GRID 2 to promote the gaming side of their Macs.

Quoting myself from this thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=40919&hilit=Racing

Ad7 wrote:Some of my favourite ever racing games:

Arcade

Daytona USA (the absolute king :datass: )
Virtua Racing
Sega Rally
GTI Club

Arcade Style

Colin McRae Rally
F1 97'
Driveclub
Ridge Racer (may as well include all of them really)
Gran Turismo (the original PSone version, always loved it the most)
Burnout Paradise

NO FUN ALLOWED SIMS

Project Cars
GTR
Grand Prix Legends

If we're talking current games, then for serious racing (and mostly good ai you can have proper races with) I'd say project cars. Gt sport is fantastic as a time trial game and it's very forgiving but the racing itself is utter gooseberry fool. You rarely have to plan and execute a proper racing overtake, you usually can just drive past or around other cars, whereas something like project cars you need to line up an overtake which could be 5 laps in the making, observing and then picking the perfect moment knowing if you mess up you've thrown it away :datass:

Pure arcade style, it has to be driveclub. It's easily one of my favourite racing games, it's just so consistent with it's handling, you can do lap after lap after lap within thousandth of a second of each other, very rare for a racing game to allow you to do that. The GR races we had were immensely fun too.

I might have a replay saved, if I do I'll record it and upload it.

It's possible you might be trying too hard. For perspective on my FIRST try I got within a second of the gold time, then for about an hour afterwards I failed to do a single lap because I was overdriving trying to smash the time. Slow and steady but fast will gain you lots of time. There's so many corners, think of it as a little bit of time in each one and it's easy to see where you'd find that time.

I already had it uploaded :toot:

I play with all the hud and stuff off so that's probably useless for showing gearing, but you can learn some lines from it.
