This is unreal.. how have they managed to pull this off?
It genuinely looks like TV footage of actual cars.

It's game that requires an online connection, but it does have a single player mode called 'Arcade'. I wrongly described it as offline - technically it is in the sense that you are racing only against AI not other players, but the game still requires an online connection. Arcade mode also allows for both earning in-game credits to purchase cars and for setting up custom races exactly how you'd like them. This is all from the demo - I'm assuming it's going to be the same in the full release next week.

Been playing the beta.

Holy shitaroo, KK was right, this is awesome!

Did I miss a meeting? It absolutely blows FM7 out of the water, which by comparison now looks like a Hotwheels collectathon for kids.

The sound, the feel, and those visuals. Bloody hell, what a turn out.

Pre-orders.

It has a lot of good features and things i like a lot - you can put cones on corner apexes, you can adjust the seat height/depth, the livery editor has a lot of decent features that surpass forza in many ways, even though the custom logo support isn't active (you have to upload .svg files to their servers, as i expected) and playing with the ds4 motion controls is pretty good.

Worth noting I'm playing on a Pro. First game where I've been able to mess with the HDR saturation, lighting etc.

Handling is great no matter what camera you choose, really easy to get to grips with the in-car or classic bumper cam but with all the help turned off it's very easy to lose control with the chase cam. Great feeling of weight to the cars though, especially when you're wrestling the car to try and stop spinning out. Would be phenomenal with a wheel.

Occasionally having adverts pop up when watching videos (which are through YouTube and don't take up the full screen) needs correcting.

I'm sure like GT5 the game will feel more fully fledged and complete as more patches and updates increase.

I'd like to see the course creator from gt6 come back within a reasonable timeframe; that would definitely help longevity.

I was going to download last night but 43GB put me off. Are the in game graphics good or just replays?

Yes?

I'm on a ps4 slim on a 1080p tv so i imagine my view counts for naught, but it looks good; it still has that slightly clinical gran turismo sheen to everything but its certanly not ugly.

I remember thinking the GT3 replay graphics looked like real life, such an impressionable young fool I must have been

Everything looks great, and there's also a lot more movement in the environments. Animated crowds, officials, water...there's more life to everything, whereas GT used to have none at all. They've really jacked up the sound too.

Only graphical issue is the rear view mirror, which is poor drawing in/out details. Focus on that and it's rubbish.

Does the demo have VR support?

Also, do we know if the full game is PSVR enabled, or is it just specific modes?

It's turned off in the demo. Not sure about what game modes support it though.

I have the PS4 "classic" so that is what I'll be seeing. Downloading now, not expecting to be blown away.

Already downloaded, took about 1 hr 30 mins. A lot of people seem to complain about PSN download speeds over a wireless connection, but that seems fine to me.

For once I'm interested to see Digital Foundry's breakdown between the Pro and Standard versions.

I'd say that's fine. Took about 30 min wired at peak time for me.
