Don't forget that Gran Turismo is more than a videogame, there's nothing that Kaz can't achieve.

GT Sport will likely not feature traditional offline events - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/ ... es.346416/

In fairness, Gran Turismo sells a hell of a lot better than anything Evolution ever made.

Sounds desperately gooseberry fool. All it needs now is voice overs from Chris Evans and Matt Leblanc.

This game is sounding worse and worse. I am sure the e-sport crowd will like it, but regular schmoes like me? Nah.

Yep, I had it on pre-order as soon as it was announced but it looks like I'm fairly certain to cancel if this is available via Boomerang as I only want it for the VR.

Sounds dreadful. I put gt6 on yesterday and it reminded me just how stuck in the past gran turismo is. It's laughably easy, the things you can do in the middle of a corner and have no accidents is ridiculous, I don't know how they've got the cheek to call it a sim.

I'm not really sure what numbers GT does these days, but Driveclub was the best selling console exclusive the year it came out (and it's a driving game so that's quite an achievement)

Plus at least Evo could turn out 2-3 games in the time it takes to make a single GT. I guess Forza would be the best comparison... I'm pretty sure they've sold more copies in that franchise, if only because there's a new game out every 1-2 years.

Just get Codemasters to make a new TOCA and be done with it.

GT has consistently outsold Forza, but GT6 was the second-worst selling GT, ahead only of the PSP version.

Best selling console exclusive in the UK but not worldwide.

I certainly don't agree with Sony shutting down Evolution, especially the way they handled it, but the financial reasons for keeping Polyphony open are pretty obvious. Saying they were left open because they are Japanese doesn't make sense.

As Bido said though, if evolution released 3 games in the time Polphony release 1, it probably doesn't make financial sense.

The sad thing is though, a Gran Turismo could sell 5 million copies in the first few months where as Evolution would make three games and maybe sell 2 to 3 million across those three games. That's why Polyphony stay open :( It sucks as I would much rather have had Evo make a new Gran Turismo.

I think this is what is comes down to, the GT name is big and is part of the PS heritage. Perhaps it would have been more sensible to have taken the DriveClub engine and enhanced it for GT. However bad GT turns out to be, like all big franchises, it will sell well.

Yes?

What's looking better, there was basically zero gameplay in that trailer.

Are Polyphony taking the piss?

Good lord :fp:

I'd be well up for watching some racing esports with commentary (as long as it was good) though, could be great.

Why do polyphony take so long churning out these games? They can't even be bothered to remodel the older cars.

I do feel they shouldn't bother going down the true sim road, but don't really have a usp anymore as the market is saturated.

Gt6 should have been ported to ps4 on launch.
